Love it!  I too have many reasons but here are a few

1. Cross my legs without having to hold it up with my foot on the seat in front of me! :)
2. Not have to worry if I'm gonna need the seatbelt extender on the airplane
3. Constant foot and ankle pain
4. Be able to tuck my shirt in instead of the oversized shirt/t-shirt trying to hide the bulge
5. More confidence
6. Fit in the seats at the Football stadium! :)

Can't wait to hear everyone elses.

Topic: What are YOUR reasons...

I have a long list of reasons I want to have this surgery...

The most important reason is my 5 year old son.  I want to be able to live a good long time and watch him grow up and become an adult and have his own kids.  I want to be able to run and play with him at the park RIGHT NOW.  I want to fit my butt in the slide.  I don't want him to be the kid at school with the Fat Mom.  I want him to grow up with a healthy, capable, energetic Mom.

I also want the following:

To ride ALL the roller coasters at Magic Mountain
To wear high heels
To be able to buy clothes because I like them, not just because they fit
To not have my thighs rub together when I walk
To be able to run
To not shy away from pictures
To be more comfortable in my skin

These are just a few... there are SOOO many reasons to do it.  And very few reasons not to ;-)

That are YOUR reasons??

Topic: RE: Started Pre-Op Diet today...
Hi Kate,

Actually the second one of the day went down way easier.  I think it just took me a second try to get used to the taste ;-)

It is now 3pm in San Diego, so I have 1 more shake and a small meal left for the day.  So far so good!!

And yes, I think I might try some of the recipes just to get a variety going.

Thanks!

How did the rest of the day go?    It sounds like you don't like the shake too much, have you tried making your own concotions to make them more palatable?  You can get all sorts of flavors & even sugar free syurps to add.

It suddenly makes it very real, doesn't it : )    I kept getting those "shocks" & as I got closer, it made me more excited the closer it got.

Topic: Started Pre-Op Diet today...
So far so good...  I choked down a chocolate protien shake this morning and have brought my supplies to work.  I am super determined to do this.  Luckily my doc has us do 2 weeks of pre-op diet consisting of 3 shakes a day and 1 small sensible meal.  I will still get to eat dinner with my family which is nice, considering I still have to cook for them!

Its funny, I just started getting really nervous this weekend, I think as it gets closer the reality sets in.  It was such a long process to get this far, and now it is 2 weeks away.  I know this is the best decision for me, there is no doubt about that, I just have to keep reminding myself of the reasons why.
