I'm a couple days out and doing pretty good, just a little sore when I move in certain ways.  I've always been a water guzzler myself.  It's a bit weird not to be able too.  I bought these tiny ice cube trays and I love them.  They've helped me to get my water in and not guzzle it down.  But that will probably get old quick, at least it's helping with the transition.

So, that's what's gonna happen if I swallow some food without it being fully chewed.  I was wondering.  Thanks for the heads up.

Topic: IM BAAACK!! DID YOU MISS ME???
Hi everybody!  So I am back at work today, which means I am sitting at a reliable computer and can keep in touch with all my Sexy Sleever friends!!

I am 2 weeks out of surgery and have lost about 30 lbs total (pre and post op).  I am staying off the scale because my scale at home is unreliable.  I figure I will just do the right things and weigh in at the doc.  I do hop on my scale occasionally but like I said it is unreliable and I would prefer a more accurate number.  When I go back to the gym next week, I will start weighing in there.

I am starting mushies, and have successfully eaten some protien ground up in the food processor!  I have tried ground turkey (taco seasoned) with salsa and a little cheese, and last night I ground up some teriyaki chicken and ate that.  It is so nice to eat food with good flavor.  I make regular meals for my family and I am just eating the protien.  I have learned that I need to measure it out so I don't eat too much.  I have little cups (like the kind you get at a restaurant that have dressing or dip in) which are about 1/4 cup.  I basically grind up the food (its not pureed, it still has texture) and put it in one of those little dishes and eat it with a baby spoon.  Its nice to eat the same thing as my family, I just eat WAYYYY less ;-)

I have always been a water guzzler...  I love water.  But its funny, since I can't guzzle it, I have to keep reminding myself to drink it!  I know hydration is SOO important, so I try to keep it consistant all day.

I did have UH OH moment... the other evening I was making my family dinner and I was cutting up some chicken.  I (out of habit) popped a piece of chicken in my mouth and only chewed it a couple of times and then swallowed - it occurred to me what I had done the second I swallowed it but by then it was tooooo late!  I felt like I had a brick sitting in my chest for a couple of hours.  Not a good feeleing and a big lesson learned.  I am now much more concious of how I used to just pop stuff in my mouth mindlessly.

SO how are all of you doing???

In addition to the 15lbs POL I also lost the 5lbs I put on of water weight during surgery for a total of 20lbs in just over 3 weeks. Very happy with the progress as doctors office said slow and steady wins the race and makes it easier for our skin to catch up with the weight loss.

So, I don't know if this will help anybody, but I thought I'd pass it along.

You all know from my previous posts that I hit a 10day stall less than a week out from surgery. Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe it. 205 - Hate that number.

Anyway, I know from past diets that I lose better with real food and less to no protein shakes. Last week I started weaning myself off the protein shakes. Actually, it's not really weaning yet because I'm still getting at least 52 grams of protein from shakes.

Instead of going to shakes first, I started having my first thing be real protein, egg, yogurt, tuna, chili, natural peanut butter (I'm at the mushy stage) that type of thing, THEN I drink some protein. I can eat about a tblsp of food at this point.

I have no idea if this is the reason why the weight started coming off or not, but literaly the next day of starting the real food first I lost a lb. Since last Thursday, I've lost 3 lbs.

I thought I'd just pass this along.

Good Morning.  I would like to start a post, every Sunday, for all of us to post our stats.  I think this is a good way to stay off the scale daily and to get support with slow loss, no loss, or even a good loss.  Thanks!

I hear ya!  I was sleeved on Monday and feeling great.  Mom is staying with me to help out and her and my hubby still have to eat.  It is hard to smell it and EVERYTHING in this society is about food!  Every channel, every commercial.  No wonder I was fixated on food.

I wish everyone luck on here.

I was 217 last week, but I was hospitalized on Sunday, 10/30 for dehydration and for a blood clot  the staple line.  I'm home now taking pain meds to manage the pain and waiting for my body to absorb the blood clot.
