OCT 2011 Sexy Sleevers!!
Frustrated
HI guys! I was sleeved Oct. 26, 5 weeks ago today. I am just wondering how much weight per week you guys are averaging. I have lost a total of 24.5 pounds since my pre-op weight in, but presently, I am only losing about a pound a week and I am bummed! Am eating about 600 calories per day, trying desperately to get in my protein and liquids. What am I doing wrong?!!!
Hi Melanie.
I noticed that our starting and goal weights are similar.
As of Monday, I lost 19 lbs. I had my 6 week visit with the NUT today and I'm averaging about 3 lbs a week since surgery.
I don't think there is any "special" thing we are doing. For me, water/fluids is ALWAYS my first priority. Then protein. Then exercise.
I get in 9-10 glass of water/fluids a day (fluids = caffeine free brewed tea). Water is crucial, imo. I get in about 60-70 grams of protein a day with the help of one shake. I try to keep my carbs at 30, but sometimes they go higher. I keep my total calories at about 700 a day.
Remember, you are considered a "light weight." So am I. We don't have as much weight to lose (even though we have more than enough, imo), so we aren't going to see big weekly losses. I think I had at least one week in there that I lost 1 lb.
Do yourself a favor and don't weigh everyday if you are.
A pound loss is a pound you will never see again.
Let the frustration go and find something else to do.
Good luck and I hope it gets better for you.

You are doing great!! I post a weekly weigh in for everyone to post their numbers. It helps us to see how everyone else is doing and get the support we need. I am 6 weeks out and right about where you are. I tell myself this is a lifestyle change and not a race. If I wanted it to happen super fast I would have had RNY, but I chose the healthier version and as long as that scale is moving (or at least the tape measure) then I'm happy. Keep your chin up and keep working that sleeve!
