OCT 2011 Sexy Sleevers!!
Hi
My name is Dawn and I'm new to the website. Looking to get all kinds of information to assist me with my weight loss journey. I had sleeve gastric bypass on 10/13/11. I'm very excited but know I need support from people who understand what I'm going through. Thank you in advance for all your comments, recipes and kindness :)
Hi,
I am on a clear liquid diet and it's driving me crazy lol! I am drinking G2 and Smar****er only. I can eat broth, saltine crackers, fat free pringles, sugarfree jello, which I'm getting sick of. This diet lasts for the first 2 weeks, then I move into puree foods (mashed potatoes, stage 1 baby foods, sugarfree applesauce, etc). I'm just ready to eat something, can't wait until next wednesday so I can eat some mashed potatoes :)
I wish I could have smooshie food but not yet. You didn't have to do a liquid diet?

Oh ok that makes more sense. I made it until yesterday (day 10) and I had to get me some grits. I was feeling hungry since like thursday so by Saturday I had to get something with substance lol. I feel great today and not hungry. I ate some grits and mashed potatoes yesterday and the hungry feeling went away. I started drinking my protein drinks (Boost) yesterday but i can only drink maybe a 3 or 4 oz at a time but that kept me from feeling hungry too. So happy to be on smooshie foods now. So I have to do this from day 10 to day 24, then I can have the good stuff
Hi Dawn I understand where you are coming from. I need help! I had the sleeve done on September 26, 2011. I am on blended foods........I tell you everything taste the same to me. I have lost 54 pounds since I have been with my new Doctor. I feel like no matter what I put in my mouth I gain weight. I have been on protein so lone until when I have a few sip of soups seems like it goes to my tummy. I am not on foods yet, but I have two pounds thats going up and down. I need to stop getting on the scales everyday that is what mess me up. I go back to my doctor on December 12, and I want to be down 25 more pounds. Man I am ready for the pounds just to get off of me. I am walking and doing a little of this and that to get the pounds off. HELP! LOL
Hi Ann,
They say that the reason for everything tasting the same is b/c of the weight loss I believe. I have to look that one up. Someone posted that info and I can't remember where I read it on here.
The weight loss is great! 54 lbs in 3-4 weeks is great! You have to remember it's going to take time to all come off. We didn't gain it in a few months...over years so if it takes you til January 12 to lose another 25 lbs don't beat yourself up. Most people can't lose that period or the 54 lbs you already lost. REMEMBER it's going to fall off. Maybe switch up your exercising, try Zumba. I love it! Make sure you are eating your protein first and getting alteas 70 grams in a day. I am trying to reach 80 but it's hard right now but after week 3 it will be easier once I start eating other foods. I'm banking on the protein drinks and the Whey protein to get me there but I fall a lil short. I think I'm going to write my foods down first at the beginning of the day and calculate what I need to eat to get the 80 g of protein. This way I'll really now.
Track your foods so you can see what works and what doesn't. When you put it on paper, you won't forget.
I added you as a friend so we can keep supporting each other. Take care and keep the faith!

Hi GiGi,
Thanks for the pointers. I know that I am kinda hard on myself, but I am not eating much and I have not been getting my protien in, but with your help now I know how important is. Tomorrow is a new day. I will write everything down and do what I need to and stop feeling sorry for myself.
Thank,
GiGi
