I lost my daughter, so I understand to an extent what you are feeling. She would have been 19 this year. The sharp edge of your grief will eventually begin to dull with time, though never fully fade and you will start to live for yourself again. When you do, the procedure will still be there, and probably greatly improved through practice and innovation.

I'm very sorry for what you and your family are going through.

Jim,

I am so VERY sorry to hear this.  I have not been on here for ever and am so sad to hear this.  Take peace in knowing he is with the lord and is not longer in pain.  I hope that in these past months you have found comfort and peace also.  Cant imagine how you feel...my son is 16 also.  Would love to hear from you and an update on your life.  God bless you and your family!

Good evening. My surgeon is Dr. Jeff Rosen. I was sent to him by my family dr. He is wonderful. Complete trust in him.  It is nice to have someone to talk to!! I have three cousins that had the same surgery. They all have done very well with it. They lost their weight and their whole life has changed for the better. So has mine. My husband can't believe how easy I am moving around. He still remembers me rolling off the couch and trying to bed over to put socks on. It wasn't funny then...just heartbreaking. I am going to try to put my picture up ao you know who you are talking to!!
I go back to the Dr for my 6 month check up on Monday and I am excited to do so. I feel so good aince the surgery. Please keep me informed about your progress. Nancy

Hi there,
I'm also in Warsaw/ Silver Lake area, had bariatric surgery at Lutheran Hosp with Dr. Dale Sloan March 24th 2008 almost 2 years out with a 110 pounds loss! It's awesome! I so want to get a group started that we can meet once a month somewhere just to support one another. I was diabetic, sleep apnea and joint pain, all of it is gone!  I feel great....keep in touch on upcoming surgery...excited for you. :)

That is great!  Very happy for you!  I am a size 26 (snug) and just cant wait.  Where did you have your surgery at?  I am going through Goshen Health Systems Bariatric.  Love the doctor and staff.  Since getting married and going though so much fertility I have packed on the pounds.  Was a size 16 back then.  Glad you joined my group.  Just wanted to have a group for people up here so everyone is closer and not all over the state.  Look forward to talking to you more.

Hi, I'm Nancy and I just joined your group and am happy to know someone in NW Ind that is in the same boat. Well, I had my surgery on August 10, 2009 and am still learning. I have lost 73 pounds so far and have went from a tight size 22 to a size 14. I am hoping to go down more since my surgery was only 6 months ago. I bet you are soooooo excited. I was too. Not scared at all , just excited. I had it done lapiscoically and it was a cinch. I have never regretted for one second doing this. Since I turned 18 i gained and lost 50 pounds atleast 10 times. I  finally got to where I couldn't do it anymore and I thank God everyday that he led me to this surgery. Sorry i am rambling so much but I still am excited!!
