My 15 year old son passed away on 6-10-10 we went to Shiners for foot surgery. He had a shunt problem and was in the ICU at Comers U of C from 5-24-10 we removed life support on 6-10 do to sever brain damage. I have lost my desire and drive for WLS.

I lost my daughter, so I understand to an extent what you are feeling. She would have been 19 this year. The sharp edge of your grief will eventually begin to dull with time, though never fully fade and you will start to live for yourself again. When you do, the procedure will still be there, and probably greatly improved through practice and innovation.

I'm very sorry for what you and your family are going through.
We never plan to fail, we only fail to plan.

Jim,

I am so VERY sorry to hear this.  I have not been on here for ever and am so sad to hear this.  Take peace in knowing he is with the lord and is not longer in pain.  I hope that in these past months you have found comfort and peace also.  Cant imagine how you feel...my son is 16 also.  Would love to hear from you and an update on your life.  God bless you and your family!
