 Welcome to this new group June 2012 of obese people who got it through taking medications that caused overeating and resulting food addiction! Once you are obese and food addicted, you have two diseases! Food addiction/obesity is like alcoholism, it doesnt really matter what cause it, once you have it, it has to be treated as a disease of its own. However, your pattern of overeating will be different than others, often related to your meds or to the illness requiring you to take those meds. If that illness is chronic and permanent, then you are going to have an ongoing problem that requires you to be smart about the meds you take for it. Going off those meds will not make the obesity or overeating go away and if you cannot stop them you need intervention! Which means surgery, often. Lets go  thru this together and find mutual solutions!
