Topic: LapBand Intervention for Overeating
I am interested in the lapband as intervention for my overeating addiction and to provide weight loss for my morbid obesity. I need to lose about 80 lbs and I find this is a common amount of weight for people who get fat as a result of meds. The obesity tends to level out at about 50 lbs after you gain the initial weight due to meds and then it climbs slowly as a result of continued overeating cause by the food addiction. Is this your experience? Please add your own story! I want to hear it! Sarah

Topic: Any takers out there?
Hi i am 60 yrs old bipolar and morbidly obese due to meds they gave me 20 years ago that caused overeating addiction! My efforts to lose weight are complicated by my B/P condition and the meds needed for them, but it is managable if I can lose initial weight and get relief from the overeating itself which will give me a window of opportunity to reverse the food addiction. Addictions can be reversed. They can be stopped. But you have to block the use of the addicting substance itself and in the case of food it is OVEREATING. Eating is not a disease but overeating actually causes chemical changes in the body that are addiction, a chemical addiction to excessive amount of food and tupes of foods that produce mood changes and chemical dependency. I am betting there are lots of us in this category. Care to join me in the conversation ? Please post a message if this is your story or  a similar one! Sarah Welcome to this group!
