What led to your decision to have WLS?

There were so many factors for me, but the main one is my health.  It sounds trite, but it's true.  For so many years I was "fat but healthy".  Then I turned 35 and it started catching up with me.  I knew I needed to do something.  It was either give up and wait for my fat to kill me or have gastric bypass.

Also, I want a baby.  I don't even care so much about the man anymore.  I mean... I tried to find him for YEARS so I could do it the right way (dating then marriage then babies etc.) but frankly I am running out of time.  I've lost one baby at 19 weeks 3 days and I am high risk.  I need to cut that risk.

What are your reasons?  What drove you here?

There were a few reasons for me.  The first was of course my vanity. I always had to work at my weight but once I hit forty, man I don't know what happened!  I probably gained 40/50 pounds between 40 and being 53.

Most recently the aches and pains started: arthritis in my hand, my shoulder hurts, my knee hurt. I went to a WLS seminar a few years back but wasn't ready.  Now I say I am too young to feel like this and i want to look better. My 1x became a 2x and they started to get tight. So I went again taking my husband with me.  He is being very supportive and I can't wait to get my surgery date!
