Topic: RE: Vitamins Question and Sugar Question
I started multivitamins my first day home.  I have the chewable kind from GNC.  They are OK.  They are large and I have to take two for one daily dose.  I do not start the Calcium supplement till one month out.  I haven't added any sugar into my diet as of yet.  I also have not thrown up yet.  I am definitely still trying to figure my body out though.  For me I can't tolerate the protein powder or the Atkins protein drinks (go straight thru me)... so I am still drinking the protein bullets from GNC to get my protein in.
Sorry I can't be of more help.  I hope you figure it out soon and look forward to hearing what others have to say.

Topic: Vitamins Question and Sugar Question

Anyone else around my surgery date start on their vitamins?

I can not stand the chewable Centrums the taste is soo horrible. I bought a Calcium Citrate and tried taking it but it went down so hard it hurt and I had to throw up.

Yesterday I bought the Calcium Viactive chews and some chewable one a day gummy multivitamins. They are better than nothing right? I took them yesterday just fine. But today I took them on an empty stomach and I think the sugar got to me because I had to throw it up.

Anyone else having trouble with sugar too?

The pureed chili is good. I added a bunch of greek yogurt to it and milk to thin it out some. I know my limit when I get super gassy and slightly uncomfortable. It doesn't take much!

Thanks guys! I'm being tough i think lol I've strained ministroni soup and it was really good!!! I'm also doing jello so I should be able to stick out these last 4 days! I can't wait to taste pureed chilli haha never though I'd say that! But I'm kinda nervous going in to this new stage because they say its when you start learning your limit and what your pouch will hold. That will be interesting!

Topic: RE: WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SUCESS SO FAR?
Today goodness willing will be my first sucess. I am going to take my kids to the park to go walk around the walk/jog trail. 1.5 miles. Normally I do 3 miles but this will be my first walk around it since having the surgery.

Sticking to the post-op diet "phases." Clear liquids, all liquids, purees, then mushies. Tomorrow I get to start mushies and I'm soooo excited.

Also, I have lost 32 lbs and I'm pretty stoked about that!

There were really not many options. I just drank the protein shakes and stuck it out.

I finally started purees this week and omg it's sooo much better. I even had some mashed potatoes and gravy yesterday and I swear it sat in my stomach better than anything I have eaten (or drank) so far. It was wonderful!! You will get there soon!

6 days still? I only have 2 days left and I am dying on mine. I am so unbelievably sick of it. I can not wait to move on to mushies, I might move a day sooner. I dont want to eat but when I do I would like for it not to be another soup LOL.

My biggest success is also just making the decision to do this and going through with it. It might be one of the biggest decisions I've made in my life. After that, it's just getting in all the protein and liquid. Gosh, I get tired of sipping by the end of the day!

I'm allowed to have some watery cream of wheat or strained soup, so I've tried 1/4 cup of each of those things. I actually had grits, not cream of wheat. And that helps. But I'm kind of having trouble getting in all the protein drinks, so I'm not bored yet. Just excited when I can get in 7 8-oz cups of fluid a day. On Monday I start the blended diet where I can start having things like pureed meat and fruit. That'll be interesting.

Oh one thing that is really easy to eat is pudding. I've had a pudding cup a couple of times now and it's really tasty and doesn't cause me any problems.
