Topic: Anyone else hit the 3 week stall.
Hi there, I think I have reached the 3 week stall. Only lost 0.6kg... Any ideas on how to get things moving again. Any inspiration welcome... food, exercise or positive thoughts.

Also, I'm only incorporating the pureed items in 1 or 2 meals a day. I still rely on at least one protein shake per day. I've learned it's a slow, combined process elevating to the next level.

Yeah, it's o.k. Vanderbilt University Medical Center only has you on full liquids for 7-10 days and then progresses you to pureed for a couple of weeks as long as you are showing good progress on full liquids, not throwing up, etc. I went to my first post-op appt on Tuesday and they were very happy with my full liquids progress and moved me to pureed. So far, really wet, finely chopped/pureed meats and beans go down well, but slowly, and only 1/4 cup at a meal. It can take me almost an hour to get through that amount. Eggs are a no-go, though, for now.

My struggle today - eating egg salad. I even blended it with my immersion blender! I took 3 tiny bites, it sat in my chest like a painful rock for 10 minutes, and then I puked! Uggghhh! No more eggs for at least 2 weeks and then I will try again(?). I think tomorrow I will try well blended tuna and see how that works.

I have been doing well. I'm not sure what my triumphs are..maybe my weight loss so far and sticking with the food phases.
I am on soft foods now and trying new things very slowly. I made deviled eggs for the family from our easter eggs and I knew I'd be able to eat the filling with no problems but I got brave and tried some of the white - it went down ok! It's sooooo nice to be able to chew now! I also had Taco Bell pintos and cheese last night and all was well. I ate the whole serving in about an hour and a half. I just make sure to chew chew chew. I am also eating tuna now which is great, but i blend it up really well with light mayo in the food processor. I think I'm going to be brave and try some salmon at some point this week...maybe.
My main struggle is getting in enough protein. It's even harder now that I eat food because that's less time to be drinking shakes. I am still short every day and it still takes me a good 3 hours to drink one shake.

Hey, there! I'm doing great! No problems getting the fluids/protein in and then some and walking 1.5 to 2 miles each day. I'm also getting all my supplements/meds in by crushing and swallowing with my protein shakes. No struggles to speak of. My husband behaved a little too much like a "mother hen" the first few days. He's a bit of a hypochondriac, so I think he was actually a little disappointed that I healed and was up and about much more quickly than I thought I would be. Maybe he was hoping I would be dependent on him longer and I wasn't? He's just a weirdo that way - I'm not giving him any grief over it. Tomorrow I have my first post-op appointment and I'm hoping they progress me to the puree stage. I would like to try some egg salad even if it means literally pureeing it! I hope you are feeling great, too!

I just had surgery 7 days ago...so my triumph is that I feel a little better every day, and I get to get my staples out tomorrow. YAY And I have had no problem getting my water and protein down, and no vomitting in 5 whole days. SO those things make me happy!!!
My struggle mainly is my hubby...he has been acting weird ever since the surgery...and almost is being Jerky...I ended up crying because he was being so rude. I cant figure out what is wrong with him...maybe he is sick of helping me do things while I recoperate?
