Want to get back on track or stay on track? Get Back On Track Together!
Struggle and win.
One day it may be so easy to do everything right you don't even need to think, whereas the next day everything is an effort. When you face a difficult day, it's easy to want to give up, yet this might be the day that breaks the plateau or the day you reach the next milestone. To give up at this point, when you have come so far, is not an option.
Even though your goal may be far away, struggling one more step gets you closer. When the labor of the day is too much, turn to your support--a person, a book, a quote, or your higher power (or all of these things). Cling to the support you have to help you take the next step toward your goal. Much later, after you have met your goal, you'll appreciate the struggle for having made you stronger.
Action for the day: Days of struggle are bound to happen, but help is not far away. Today, reach for that help whenever you need it.

I really like that you are approaching yourself in a gentle, yet, very matter of fact, convincing manner.
Be good to your body and it will be good to you. Keep your head in the game and always try to remember to "Do the next right thing".
Your body and your mind will benefit.
: )
Thank you for sharing your "Letter to me".

Most definitely - getting together with others is about the people and having a good time without the food focus!!
As always - thanks!!

One of the many things I like and respect about you is that you "analyze the why of my eating." I completely agree with you. We didn't get to the point of needing WLS because we were hungry. It is because we ate for reasons other than hunger.
Nighttime eating has been a problem for me for years and I still struggle with it at times. I don't know if it is the let down from the stress of the day, boredom, or all of the above and more. As of now, I save something healthy such as strawberries like I'm currently having or a protein snack (as you mention), and that is working for me.
Thanks for your reply!!

Thanks for your reply. After I wrote my post, I thought it was a bit silly but I wanted to share it. That is one of the reasons why I like OH Groups, because I can be honest with the members of the group.
Thanks for being a member and your reply.

How many times have you sat down with friends at a dinner party for a lovely meal and someone, who has never had a weight problem, goes on and on about how they can't eat this or that because they are on a diet? As a result, at least some people at the table felt self conscious about filling their plate and enjoying their meal. Not only did the "dieter" spoil the meal, but they openly insulted the host by judging the dinner unfit to eat.
The middle of a dinner party is not the best time to share your personal choices and to become a martyr for your new lifestyle. You can take your smaller portions and not draw attention to them. If someone asks you why you took so little, just say you want to sample everything, and then change the subject. Be a rounded conversationalist, and people will remember the interesting person they sat next to as opposed to the person who made them feel bad about themselves.
Action for the day: Reflect on ways to be interesting around people instead of focusing everyone's attention on your food choices.

I really need to analyze the why of my eating. Meanwhile I do eat 1 or 2 fudge posicles instead of other just I had started to eat late at night. Thanks so much for this post and reminder to analyze our habits. BTW - I use to eat Power Crunches too but came to the realization I could have so many other protien snacks with no carbs, less calories, and cheaper too.....:-)
Thanks for sharing the GREAT letter to "me". So many points to remember. It has spurred me to write a letter to me as well.
Blessings~
