Topic: Happy Thanksgiving!
I love Thanksgiving. Before losing weight, a big part of enjoying Thanksgiving was turkey and pumpkin pie and stuffing and etc., etc..... I still enjoy Thanksgiving food but in moderation.
Thanksgiving is a special time for me personally. I always try to live my life in gratitude every single day. It is important to me that the people close to me always know how much they mean to me and how I feel about them. Thanksgiving allows me the official opportunity (see the calendar - it is an official day of gratitude!) to express my appreciation for the blessings in my life.
Thank you to my husband and sons....I love you always and forever. To my best friends and friends....thank you for the joys, laughs, and trust we share. To my always will be my boss...it's been quite a ride this year and to my co-worker that are more my friends than someone I work with; thank you for your support. To my clients and professional colleagues...thank you for our work together. I wouldn't be the person that I am today without all of you in my life.
Happy Thanksgiving!
With appreciation and deep gratitude,
Cathy

Ms Cathy,
I'm happy today Sunday. I know you made this post a few days ago and I was still happy and I hope to be happy in the future. Maybe a piece of pizza will make be happy instead of turkey I can eat the topping but not the crust. It seem to get stuck. Well be happy. jimmy

Are you putting off being happy until you lose weight? If so, you're living in limbo. When we are overweight, we delay doing certain things, going places, and essentially delay our happiness. If not now, when? We put our lives on hold.
Today Is The First Day! Rather than delay participating in an activity or event until some magic point in the future, do it now. Enjoy where you are today. Guess what...if you make the decision to be happy now, no matter what you weigh, it will make your desire for emotional eating less. If you feel fulfilled and satisfied in your life, the need to fill yourself up with food will decrease. Life doesn't start at a certain weight or body size. Live your best life today. You are so much more than a mere number on the scale or a tag sewn at the back of your clothes.
Live your happiness now.

Topic: How do you spend your 1,440?
There are 1,440 minutes in a day. Just as you budget and know how you spend your money, how do you spend your 1,440 minutes. The activities you do in your day are a reflection of what you value.
Do you say that you don't value television but upon your reflection of your 1,440 minutes, your evaluation shows that you spend many of those 1,440s watching mindless television? For many of us, we say that we don't have time to exercise but, do we?
1,440 minutes is a lot of time. Every minute counts. Make yours count and reflect what you value and your priorities.

Do you need an incentive to exercise? If so, pay yourself.
Get a preferably clear container and put in $1 for every time you exercise. The clear container will allow you to see and appreciate all those $1 bills. It will give you an added incentive to keep adding to all those $1 bills.
Just as we work at our jobs to get paid. Pay yourself for exercise. For all of your efforts, spend your exercise money on something you wouldn't normally do for yourself. Get yourself a new outfit, a massage, or anything that is a treat for you.

Topic: What do YOU want?
As a weight loss surgery coach, I hear many clients talking about things they want. They want to lose weight, they want to get back on track, they want to reach their goal weight, and all sorts of things they want. It is great to talk the talk about what you want but what are you willing to do to get it?
It isn't enough to merely want something. You must take your "want" of something to the next step and that is doing something about it. We won't lose weight, get back on track or reach your goal simply because you want it. When I regained my weight, I desperately wanted to lose it. Wanting it to be gone wasn't enough. I had to want it enough to do something about it. I put steps into place to make it happen. I tuned into my emotional eating and developed strategies that didn't include food, I stopped grazing (okay, more like 90% stopped grazing) and other habits that supported my "want."
So, what do you want? And very importantly, what are you willing to do to get it?

Topic: Feeling stuck?
On and off, I feel stuck. Stuck in all sorts of places in my life - what I eat, my activity/exercise, my continuing education...you name it, I think we can all feel stuck.
If you feel like you're stuck, in many ways that's a positive sign. It means you're eager to get moving.
The feeling of being stuck shows that there's somewhere you truly would like to go, and you're ready for some real progress. It means you're highly motivated, and that's a powerful state to be in.
Instead of focusing on the particular problem of the moment that's making you feel stuck, step back and look at the big picture. Recall the reasons why you originally chose to be on this path in the first place.
Most likely, the challenge you're facing right now is trivial compared to the goal you've set for yourself. Put things in perspective and you'll realize that what's really keeping you stuck is not the situation itself but rather your response to it.
Instead of feeling overwhelmed, choose to start working your way through the challenge one step at a time. There is a little bit you can do now, a little bit of progress you can make later, and bit by bit you'll make your way through.
Take advantage of the frustration you feel, and redirect the energy of that frustration into positive, thoughtful action.
You'll soon be looking back on this moment with the grateful realization that you just cleared a major hurdle and are quickly moving forward again.
