Reading your post - I thought I could have written it. I am very much an emotional eater and hadn't really given it much thought - but also unconscious. It has been good to get back on this site and refocus after being 6 years post op.
I have been wanting to read Valerie's book and look forward to reading it after your comments.

March 17 I(St. Patricks Day
) 'm going to attend an all day seminar on Maximizing Individual Performance by Eliminating Self-Defeating Behaviors and I wanted to share a thought from a book written by the person whose ideas the course is based on as I think it is something we all need to do and often don't
"As we evaluate our lives, it is important that we look, not only at our accomplishment, but also at the conditions under which we have labored. We are all different and uniques individuals; we have each had different starting points in the race of life; we each have a unique mixture of talents and skills; we each have our own set of challenges and contraints to contend with. Therefore, our judgment of ourselves and our achhievements should not merely include the size or magnitude and number of our accomlishments; it should also inclue the conditions that have existed and the effect that our efforts have had on others." ((The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter, p. 14-15)

What refeeding schedule does your dr use with patients? Mine is rather conservative and has his patientients spend 2 weeks on each of the 4 levels. You might be progressing through the levels a bit faster than your band is comfortable with.
I have gone for a fill about every 4 months in the 3 years since my surgery. Each time Dr. Lord has made my band a bit tighter. The last time I had a fill, I think I have my band the tightness I want so I have waited 6 months since my last fill. I have that checkup/fill appointment today. Am anxious to see if my band has remained the same size or if I will need a little fill to bring it back down to that size. Our bands do stretch a bit - as do the by-pass surgery openings. The thing I really like about the lap band is that we can have the size of our opening adjusted. No other proceedure has that luxury.
If you're comfortable with doing it, please keep me posted on your progress.

I lead a psychoeducational group called Moving On which addresses forgiveness. Some know they need to forgive while others are angry/holding a grudge and feel forgivenes is the LAST thing they need (even though it is the MAIN thing they need)
Let me recommend a marvelous book FORGIVE FOR GOOD by Dr. Fred Luskin
It is a practical, effective, guide to forgiveness. Follow his "how tos" and you'll be amazed at your results (remember, results take time and practice) Keep in mind, one does not forgive because what happened is OK, the offending person deserves it, or now you must interact with that person, forgiveness is for you and your peace.
I wish you well on your forgiveness path.
