Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
My number 1 recommendation is DO NOT stock up on protein before surgery - unless it is samples. There is protein that I LOVED pre-op, but post op I couldn't STAND it. In fact, the ONLY protein supplement that I could handle for the 1st seven months post-op was Isopure in the premixed glass bottles - and there were only two flavors (Grape Frost and Blue Rapsberry).
NOW, I love Champion Pure Whey Stack Cocoa Mochaccino - I do it hot - 155 degrees water (over 160 will curdle the protein). I also like IDS Vanilla Cinnamon with Champion Pure Whey Stack Chocolate (equal parts). I do that hot too. Though with summer coming, I may do iced again. I also like doing just the chocolate by itself (Champion) with sugar free Toasted Marshmallow syrup (Davinci or Torani).
You can find many places to order samples from - I get my protein from vitalady.com (hope it's ok that I post that). She sells samples - and there are SO many different proteins to choose from! The nutritional information about sugar/carbs are available there as well.
Hope that helps!
From what I read from my surgeons papers he wants us on one that is 30-50 grams of protein, low in carbs and 1-2 grams of sugar per serving. Has anyone found this, more importantly anyone found this and like it?

Thanks much!!
Lisa
However, as I approach my surgery on Monday (lap band) I have been rethinking this. Mindful eating MUST become a new mantra, a new habit, a new way of life.
Another wls friend told me something interesting last night. She decides before eating ANYTHING if she truly wants the food to "take up real estate" in her puch as it is a valuable neighborhood! She judges each bite as if it is worthy - which is an interesting way to look at eating after wls.
