Guess you say the choice is, taking the healthy forck in the road, or taking the unhealthy fork in our hand.

I have to personally disagree with you, G'smom.  I'm 77 and I believe it has improved my "beauty"  As one who counsels bariatric patients, I've found that while many give health as one of the major motivators, as soon as they feel better that no longer seems as important.  ( , interestingly, a British article sharing their research findings, bears this out)  Like everything else, the answer is in "balance"  To only do it for beauty and the liklihood of success is small (if that's the motivator, there's always another "beauty corner" to go around) but I think a healthy dose of vanity can be a good thing for us.  Isn't support wonderful?  And I agree 100% the all the effort is more than worth it.

So glad you're here!!!!

Procrastination, eh???  Oh I've heard that some folks have that problem, but know nothing about it first-hand of course.  Yah, right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (see how long it took me to respond to this post/) LOL

One thing I've observed over the years, folks who have an investment in being perfect often procrastinate (or don't finish what they start) because until a task is completed, it can't really be judged as imperfect.

It has been an incredible journey but worth the results. I wish that I had gotten on sooner when I was having a slightly rough go at the beginning. I kept on plugging along with the help of my loving husband and newly adopted children. I now have friends who understand what weight loss surgery is all about. It is not for looks but for health. Ay 60yrs old I don't think it is going to improve my beauty!LOL. Thank you for your encouraging words.

Well, guess I won't be packing my bags fo Thailand as while I have fair skin, I'm a brunette.  Oh well, looks like I'm going to just have to stay home and let the "beauty chips" fall where they may.  LOL

Topic: On track?
If you've read my blog, I am putting together a Weight Loss Purpose Statement.  Part of doing this is that I am listing the words or phrases that describe being off track and being on track.  I'd like your help as I know it will help me a lot as I'm doing the back and forth regarding a food choice that is a trigger.  Check out my blog to see the process.

If you have any additions or input, please feel free to post here or send me an e-mail at [email protected]

Thanks!!  Cathy

Take a good look at maps, Cathy.  Notice anything.  Very few of those roads that lead from where you are to where you want to be are a straight line.  They have wiggles in them - but know what, stay on the route and you will reach your destination every time (even if you come across an unexpected detour.)
