Topic: Whew! Hectic week but checking in
I had a very hectic couple of weeks. The past two weeks had lots of deadline items that I had to meet and, of course, all coinciding back-to-back. I made it though!!
Thursday was my half year surgery anniversary. Yes, I celebrate half-year anniversaries and birthdays. My kids love it because they get a mini celebration. I'm so grateful for the strides I've had in the past six months. I've had a lot of insights that were very deep and meaningful for me. Those whole WLS process has been so, so much more than about the surgery. When you lose your weight, that is external but the real work is in the inside. When we do the inside stuff, it takes care of the outside and weight regain doesn't occur and the really bad food struggles are minimized.
I am very grateful today. I'm grateful for all of you in a place that we can be ourselves and share.

Hi Molly,
Another fabulous one!! I really needed this as this week comes to a close. It was a hectic week. I have saved the statement like Gaby set it out in her post:
It's so simple yet so powerful, I got chills upon reading it:
"Simply do the next right thing."
It helps to eleviate the overwhelminng feeling of everything that needs to be done.
I am going to remember this one too. Thanks!
Hugs, Cathy

Hi becca,
3 walks of 15 minutes each is great. Any movement and activity counts. I have an herniated disc in my neck that is very painful so I empathize with back pain. You are right - it will happen in time. I tell myself that often too.

I try to remember that life is not a destination but a journey, started from within the womb. We have to keep active in our efforts to enjoy this moment. If it's a painful moment, then remember that its just a moment. we can make it through that. Its when we put all those moments together that we get in trouble. Live in the now!

Thats awesome! What a great feeling. I bet you are on a high right now. Feels great to move that body!
I did my 3 walks today. 15 minutes each. I can't walk much further because my back hurts. I'd love to afford a health club so that i could strengthen my back muscles. It will happen in time.

I finally made it to the health club today!! I had not been to HC in over a year. I had a wonderful workout and felt really good. I wanted to stay another hour but I did not have the time. I will be going back again tomorrow morning. Thank you all for inspiring me to go back to health club. I always wonder what makes me stop going because I do love it once I get back into it. I am so happy I finally reached this goal this month. Now that I went today, I know I will continue to go 3 to 4 times a week. Thanks again!!
