What a day!

Do you ever have one of THOSE days where you feel like the entire world is moving to the left and you're moving to the right?  When it seems like nothing is going right?  If so, that's my day!

How do you handle those days?  For me pre-op (okay, sometimes post-op too), I would eat.  You know, food that helps you curb the emotions, takes the edge off and just downright comforts you.

Well, not me, not today.  I saw a quote somewhere that says something along the lines of you are more powerful than any situation that can happen to you.  When I step back, how much sense does it make to eat over emotions or a situation?  It just makes things worse.

I know that I'll close the day staying on track!!

When I have one of those days I have to remember to BREATHE!!! Its so easy to hold your breath and not release the tension of the day...Once i can retreat I find a favorite bath salt or bubblyboo and have a long soak with whatever book I am reading at the time. That is my new luxury...reading and a soak. I have to really resist the longing to dive into something chocolate and sweet when im feeling low, more-so now than i did pre op to be honest....I think I have more of an eating issue than i did before. Maybe its just because I am much more accutely aware of my behaviors now...who knows. With my VSG I feel so much more in control of my whole life that it seems my off kilter days seem farther and fewer inbetween : ))
