I am hoping to have RNY next month, has anyone had any experience with Dr. Moran?  How are his surgical skills?

Dr Moran did my surgery on August 4th.  He is wonderful, best in his field in the area and I have had many complications.  He is very serious and direct.  I worked hard at lightening him up some.  I wouldn't have anyone else.  I will say that they wanted me to see Dr. Henderson after the surgery and I refused.  I continue to see Dr. Moran every time I go to the office.  They are very supportive and they have a great support group on Tuesday and Saturday once a month.  I hope that helps.

Thanks for getting back to me.  What kind of complications have you had, if you don't mind me asking.  I am so nervous about the surgery!  I am going in on Nov 2.  Hope we can be friends too!  I would love to connect with some local people going through the same journey.

Don't be nervous!!! I have complete faith in Dr. Moran if that is your choice.  I would love to be friends, I sent back the request.  My surgery was on August 4th.  I decided to have the bypass instead of the band.  My surgery went super well, I was up and walking that day.  As I progressed through the weeks it was time to move onto pureed foods but every time I did I felt horrible.  I would be nauseas and feel bad.  This continued so Dr. Moran sent me to a gastroendocrinologist and he found that I had a stricture which sometimes happens.  This is where your new stomach closes some.  So he fixed this while he was in there and life was good again.  I was losing weight yippee!! Then I started getting this pain it felt like a knife that was going through my chest into my back, I was very uncomfortable and I could not drink or eat so that was not good either.  I ended up back in the office on a Monday and Dr. Moran put me in the hospital immediately to get me hydrated and out of pain.  In the meantime my gall bladder was the problem now plus I had a gall stone logged in my bile duct.  So now he was going to have to remove my gall bladder and flush the stone.  We started at 5:30 pm and 7 hours later I came out of surgery.  The stone would not flush and my favorite gastro man had to go in find the stone and dissolve it.  Wow!! What a process.  The surgery went well but then my pancreas decided to get angry and that my friend you never want.  I was in so much pain.  I was in the hospital for 11 days.  If it could go wrong it did, believe me I am the exception!! I have lost 45 pounds which is awesome but still recovering.  This has been a process for sure but I would have to say that I would do it again but maybe with less complications lol!! Keep in touch, ask any questions you have!!!
