Hugs~
Just wanted to share a small NSV. (non-scale victory)
Friday I tried on 2 dresses and a skirt I could not wear in May. Well the fit wonderfully Friday and I wore the skirt Saturday. I had a suit jacket on yesterday that also did not fit at the beginning of the summer.
So fitting back into these clothes made me very happy and is more motivation for me to keep on trucking. People are starting to tell me I am losing weight. My friend from WI was here Saturday and asked me was I losing weight again. I told here not really because since I saw her last I had only lost 2 more pounds to make a total of 22 pounds down this year.
But I told her I think the inches are making a huge difference from weight training and elliptical at the gym.
You are definitely not in the boat alone. I have lapband and had to have it completely deflated twice, which means I had no restriction at all. Instead of staying focused, I used it as an excuse and gained back 40 pounds. Then comes the guilty. Finally, I said enough is enough. I did not go through this surgery to convert back to where I began. I sat down and created a list of five motivational goals. Then I wrote them on three index cards. One I put in my purse, one on the bathroom mirror, and one on my desk. I realize it will not be easy but I have to give it my best. I think acknowledging the situation is the first step. Then you have to plan your game plan. I know you can do it. This is a great support system also.
Thanks Molly~
Patience - unhealthy habits will take time to overcome, so do not beat yourself if it takes time and many relapses to overcome them.
Positive - thinking and attitudes.
These are my 3 P's and I would like to share them with you. I go over these EVERY DAY. One day at a time. You can do it!
I saw one negative that I recommend to you to change. You may want to change your user name from OBESITY-IS-MEE. That name alone says a lot. If you are trying not be obese, just seeing that name is stating you will be OBESE forever. So what about NORMAL WEIGHT IS MEE or SKINNY IS MEE. A name with more of a positive spin on it. It is just a thought, maybe the name means something else to you. Little negatives like this one can sabotage us. It is not easy to change our mindset but WE CAN with effort and making ourselves a priority. You are worth it!
Hello,
You reaching out here is a good 1st step. You may need additional help. So you need to seek out support groups, a therapist, etc. We all can relapse but we can pick ourselves up and keep going. But we have to REALLY WANT IT BAD ENOUGH to do the things necessary to get ourselves help. We have to dig down deep.
When we had WLS we knew it was just a TOOL but we really thought it would do all the work for us. Now we see that is not true it is time for us to step up to the plate. If we don't we will revert all the way backwards.
I myself was at this point in March of this year. The scale was moving in the wrong directions, clothes were getting too tight. A few things happened and I said NO way can I continue to do this to myself. I was sabotaging myself and I put the breaks on it.
I started back posting to OH.com after a 3 year absence. I started back going to my support group meetings and I do the telephone support group meetings also. I joined several groups on OH.com. One of them being Back on Track Together. They have a print out of excellent information on how to get back on track. If we spend 30 min to an hour on OH.com each day this will keep you mindful of the direction you want your life to go. Whether you lurk or post. I personally feel posting is more beneficial because you will needed encouragement and feedback. If you never communicate then you are alone with your self and you feelings and you need to vent and let it out. We have demons within us that will sabotage WLS. If we don't do our part we will be back to square one. That is why I seeked out help because I was not going back to square one.
We can gather information but if we are not willing to apply it or try to apply it we will continue to be lost. Sure we will not be perfect and we will not succeed every time, but we have to KEEP on trying and never give up on ourselves.
You can do this!! Positive thoughts and thinking is very useful. If you don't have this you will not have the belief that you can turn this around for the better. Hope this helps and hang in there. We are here for you, just reach out and we will be there.
Daily Inspiration for August 7, 2010
Stay focused.
Life is full of distractions. Your company is downsizing, your debt has become unmanageable, your basement has flooded again--the list is endless.
What is the one thing that would make all this worse? You know all too well. Being obese and ill. Certainly, life can hand us whoppers--challenges beyond what we feel we can handle--but most of your stresses are distractions from what is truly important. Most of them need to take second place to your health.
Action for the day: Are you allowing life's distractions to interfere with living the lifestyle (physically, mentally, and spiritually) that will keep you healthy in the long run? In your journal, write a list of the distractions that are robbing you of the success you desire. Resolve not to let distractions steal your resolve.

Patience - unhealthy habits will take time to overcome, so do beat yourself if it takes time and many relapses to overcome them.
Positive - thinking and attitudes.
After my relapse in June, I have now recovered. I re-lost the 12 pounds I gained in June. I keep in mind perfection is not the key, consistency is the key. I am so happy to have recovered. I did so with your help and my determination to get back on track. I kept repeating my new motto - The 3 P's. I am now officially losing again. I am at my lowest weight this year. It is only a little but I will take it because I am not gaining.
Now that I have learned my lesson form the last six weeks, I am ready to keep going and be consistent until I reach the dreaded plateau or reach my goals and milestones.
This month my goal is to lose 10 pounds. I with do this by being consistent with food most days and exercising most days also--no less than 5 days of exercise per week.
Thanks again for your continued support!
