Take your time; Rome wasn't built in a day.
So, have you reached your goal weight yet? Are you well into your successful maintenance period? Of course, you've resolved all of your emotional issues and are now a phenomenally healthy model of happy, successful living, right? Well, don't despair; as they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. Nothing worth accomplishing can be achieved overnight. If it could, it wouldn't be much of an accomplishment, right?
Patience is a difficult virtue to cultivate, especially in this fast-paced society that extols overnight success. Even a year or more after your surgery, you may not be exactly where you want to be. But that's okay. Your life is not meant to be rushed. It's a slowly-unfolding story. Savor it and know that you are doing your best to make sure that the next chapter holds even more promise.
Action for the day: Reflect on all that you have accomplished so far, both the momentous and the "small." Meditate on what your next chapter will hold.

I just wanted to share my post surgery summer experiences w/everyone. I also want to hear about yours. I had the best summer that I have had in a long time. Need to share!
1- Trip to New orleans July 4th weekend. Essence music festival, had a blast. NSV, compliments from younger men. I even went to the gym, tip for singles (the cuties hang out @gym) who knew pre-surgery lol.
2- Barbecues pre-surgery 0 post surgery 3. I even won a raffle gift from one of them.
3- Summer evening out in Manhattan w/friends pre-surgery 0 post-surgery 3. I initiated the outings. Had good times.
4- I wore summer dresses that I could not fit into for the last 8 years. (wow)
5- I received more compliments this summer about how good I look that I could handle.( but loving it)
I can go on and on, not @ goal yet but enjoying the journey and loving it. How was you post-surgery summer, please share

Sweet Melissa ,
This is a time of uncertainity for you for sure . Remember Melissa .. you are saving your life here .
It is scary .. challeging .... and so many other emotions . But after 6 years of doing this .. and maintaining for this long , if I can do it ANYONE CAN DO IT ...
I want you to ask yourself how bad you want this ? Do you love yourself enough to give it a gift of life ? I know these are hard questions but these are ones that maybe you have not thought of .
I feel in my heart you know what you want to do and have every feeling you are going to be a great success . You need to look in the mirror and know that that person looking back at you, loves you . Go love her back .
My bm was way over 60 ... I am 5.7 when I started I weighed 359 pounds .... today I weigh 125... and have kept it off. Take a look at our before and after picutres here ...
If you need me I am here for you .. I am also a Bariatric Life Coach and would be glad to work with you one on one .
