Good job on your workouts Jazzy!! I have been very busy this week so I was not able to psot as often. Then the few times I tried OH.com kept making me re-log in and I got frustrated with that. It seems to have been fixed now.

My goal this week was again to log in 360 min and this week I did not include the weights this week. See below for the week thus far. You have a good weekend also!!

Mon: 35 min bike
Tues: 35 min bike, 30 min elliptical = 65 min
Wed: 40 min Leslie Sasone DVD, 30 min walk = 70 min
Thurs: 0
Fri: 80 min walk
Sat:
Sun:

Week total: 250 min

110 min to go!heart

Have a "wacky-day plan."

Life is not always predictable. You wear a new fall sweater to work and the temperature climbs to 80 degrees. You plan a weekend away, and you get the flu. For WLS patients, unexpected events can ruin a good plan for the day. For example, you get delayed by a client, and by the time you finally get home you are so hungry you choose a quick, refined carbohydrate to eat.

When you get hit with a wacky day, have in place a "wacky day plan" so you don't get off track. For example, some people keep the fixings for a protein drink in their car for emergency situations.

Action for the day: Make a "wacky-day plan." What will you do to protect your healthy way of life when something unpredictable happens?

Thanks for the reminder Tink...

When I had my surgery on Aug 16th, I started walking in the hospital, and then continued it when I went home.  Now I am going to the gym about 3 days a week.  My favorite exercise is the elliptical and treadmill.  I am going 2.5 miles on the elliptical and 2 miles jogging/walking on the treadmill.  I am working my goal of being able to ski again this winter in Tahoe.  Having a goal like that really motivates me, because this is an activity I have not done for over 25 years.  I should be down about 20 more lbs by then too.  I have to tell myself..I love being fit and I love having energy.  Since I have started this regimen, I feel 100% better.

Topic: Setting Fun Goals!!!
I have found that it is the little things that help me over the motivational hump.  I  used to say to myself...I am too tired, I am too fat, I am too busy to exercise or start something new.  I have learned to trick myself and started to set fun goals for myself that gives me motivation to do the "daily grind".  I used to snow ski a lot when I was teen and in my early twenties.  I have set a goal to get in shape enough to ski this Christmas up in Lake Tahoe.  Now, I am motivated to go on the elliptical, treadmill, weights...etc, because I want to have a fun time on the slopes with my wife and kids.

So, I am now starting to set fun goals for myself and looking for the results.

Good morning everyone,

Last nights workout was good.   I did the incumbent bike for 35mins and the ab machine.
It was my 5th day of w/o for the week.  Today and Saturday are my days off from the gym.  I will hopefully start again for next week on Sunday.

What are you plans for today and the weekend to help you get closer to your goal?

Everyone please have a good and safe weekend!

Thanks Lynda for telling us about your journey. It sounds like you are doing well to already be back to work and finding some food that settles well. You are right, WLS is indeed a great gift to give yourself. You will be amazed at all the things you'll discover.  I'm excited for you.
Hugs~
Annie
