Im glad I love water...even before surgery I can drink it any way and be fine.  I like the equation and I think I am going to borrow it and put it on my fridge!

View permanent weight loss as a process, not an event.

Most great achievements are the result of hard work and a designated plan of action. As they are often time consuming, progress is made in small, purposeful steps.

The same is true concerning permanent weight loss. It's not just going to happen. Through a process you create and execute, you are infinitely more likely to succeed in all your endeavors.  Save the "events" for birthdays and celebrations, and view permanent weight loss as a process of making a plan, and then, each day, doing the next right thing.

Action for the day: Today, simply do the next right thing. Whenever you have a decision to make, whether it's what to eat or what to do after work, do the next right thing.

** Steps necessary to get to goal weight of 298 by or B4 August 31st **

1. Do no less than 60 min cardio M-F and 45 min on Sat or Sun. I want to average 400 min of cardio per week.

2. Eliminate all fried foods for now, not forever but for now and then eat very sparingly.

3. Eliminate all fast foods for now also.

4. Go to bed by 11 pm or earlier.

5. M-F make my net calories 1200 to 1500 calories and Sat/Sun net calories 2000 or even less if no social outings.

6. No more EXCUSES for me. I have been doing good but I know I can do better and need to JUST do it!

Topic: SPRING CLEANING ...

SPRING CLEANING Ahhh Spring Time.. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming.. the weather is getting warmer.. We can also think of Spring Cleaning as a way to clean up our diet. Just getting over Christmas, New Years, and Valentine’s Day. Let’s start thinking of Spring Cleaning as a way to clean up our diet. Let’s start thinking of good clean foods we can now put in our body. Fruits, veggies.. Better choices when we are out to eat. Clean cold water. I love open air food markets. A time and place where all the local farmers come together to sale their beautiful vegetables. I love nothing more than a vine ripe tomatoes. Or fresh squash … Cantaloupe.. Watermelon. Spring time brings so many new beginnings … I have posted a link to a hand out called Spring Cleaning … I hope you enjoy it .. HAPPY SPRING TIME TO ALL …   LOVE AND BLESSINGS ,     TINK http://images.obesityhelp.com/forums/ohsupportgroup/Spring_C leaning_April_2010_Handout.pdf

Most of your hunger is head hunger... and while they rearranged our plumbing , they did not really tell us much to do about this thing we call head hunger. This is when we get into a habit of eating .... when it is not time .. or we are craving something salty , crunchy .. Been there done it ... got the T-shirt.

I learned early on to listen to my body ... 1. is it time to eat .. if not go grab my water bottle and sip , sip , sip .. 2... for something crunchy .... I came up with a great recipe for cheez its... I take 2 % cheese ... I throw it in a pan ... and let it melt until it get's crispy ... and break it into little pieces . .

There are tons of great protien snacks on the market that are crunchy .. K's Naturals has a great chip that is full of protein and has that crunch .
I also , when I want crunch , I reach for sugar snap peas, carrots ... or any thing that is a veggie that has a snap to it ... but always .. check with your doctor or your NP before you change your diet .

I hope this helps ..
Just remember , when that hunger hits .. grab tha****er bottle ... it does help .

Hugs,
Tink

Mine is eating too much. I will eat and then a couple of hours later I want to eat again.

At six months out you should be talking to your doctors office or sticking very close to their diet recommendations.  Take it from me you only get the honeymoon period once.  Are you attending any support groups in your area?  I hate giving diet recommendations to anyone less than 12 months out, even 18 months because most likely they have not reached goal weight and they really need to be contacting their surgeons office for all issues.
