Im new to this group and live in Chester....such a cute little town:) I had laproscopic RNY on 11/17/08, and have now lost 98 pounds...yay! So anyways i look forward to talking and experiencing everything with all of you.

Whatever advice or inspiration I can offer, I'm happy to do it. I hope that others will take advantage of the chance to talk to people who have progressed a little farther along in their journeys. Everyone's road has a few bumps in it... some more than others. Mine has finally leveled out a bit, and I'm enjoying the ride!

Topic: Learning to Eat as a WLS Patient ....

What was I thinking ... Weight loss surgery ? That was my thought once .. and to have to eat small portions ..
So I took the attitude before surgery that I was going to eat like one now .. I began to eat off of small plates , baby spoons and forks .. and it worked . I tranformed into this so called food expert come the day of my surgery .. but little did I know .. how things would change ..
My taste changed .. as well as portion size ...

If you are starting your journey .. always keep to your surgeons protocol , but keep it fun and real .
Try new things ... get with others in your support group and get new recipes . I have learned how to cook so differently now .
Boy ... what a difference a day makes .. I went from eating an entire Big Mac combo --- to getting repulsed at the site of one now .. to asking for my burger .. nekid .. with lettuce - tomatoe and mayo only ... I love this life !

Hi Tink,

I'm sorry you're having issues with non-participation. Speaking only for myself, I am 3 months post-op and I feel that my life has returned to a stable & normal condition where I no longer need daily advice from my peers. I joined the group just so I could hear what people are talking about & offer advice or opinions when needed. I'm doing great, and I hope everyone else is too.

Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum and love reading the posts on here.

I have done all my pre-ops and are now awaiting insurance approval so please keep me in your prayers that this will be an easy process.

I'm from North Carolina but my family is from Virginia and we live only a few miles from the line. So hope that doesn't matter.

I'm 25 yrs old, Married with 1 little boy and ready to be a skinny minnie.
