I think it's great you are so upbeat despite the discomfort. It's in the 60's and raining here. I love it. Just the kind of weather I was born for (I'm Scottish)

Topic: So much pain, but so happy.
I might be stuck at home, in tons of pain from recovery, and generally uncomfortable in this hot weather, but I have never had this much HOPE for my future, and I've never been so EXCITED about things to come, some that I could not even imagine would happen until now.
It is a wonderful kind of pain. Thanks for all your kind thoughts on Friday. I feel blessed to have this surgery, and blessed to have found this group.

Hi Tink,
I'm sitting in my hospital be right now. Yesterday was mostly a painful drugged blur, but today I am feeling pretty well and have even walked around a couple of times and I'm able to sip a little water.
The side of my torso really hurts, but it already feels like it is slowly getting better. It took me a long time to awaken from the anesthetic, but by 4pm or so I was able to feel a little more normal (my sugery was at 7am).
I'll be out of here by tomorrow if everything goes well, my surgeon says.

I would be interested and willing to come out for that. I don't think it's but 30 mins away. Not too bad. I got your PM and will let you know my number also, and you can let me know when it's getting started up.

Welcome, I'm fairly new too. My surgery is in two weeks and I wonder how I will cope with the two day clear fluids. Your feelings are normal. I am excited and scared as well.
This will be great for us, I'm sure. Fear of screwing up is what will stop you from doing so.

HI,
I'm new to this group as well, but wanted to say welocme to the others and just say, Thank you to Tink for everything she does for everyone each and everyday....It takes time out of her life everyday to support us all....
My journey started back on Jan. 3rd 2008, I had RNY surgery.....Went from 229 pounds down to 139 and now am holding at 159 pounds.....I need to get at least 10 of this weight re-gain off to feel happy again, but boy oh boy is it harder the further you get out.....

Welcome Iris ! WOW you are having surgery tomorrow . Do you have a surgery angel ? This is someone that can call a family member to keep in contact to see how you are doing and post it back here to the group so we can keep you in our thoughts and prayers . I notice you live not too far from me. (I'm Gainesville, used to be Sterling for a bit) I will be going to the monthly support group at the Fairfax hospital. Do you know of any other support groups that are around our area?
I've never been a joiner, but think that is something I need to change to be successful. I stay at home. I've only lived here a year so I get kind of isolated and think going to a group with people I have something in common with would be good for me.

Would you be willing to come out . I am looking to start my mentorship back up and get a kick butt group going .
I will PM you my number if yoiu are interested let me know . Support is so important . I have a few ladies and gents in the area that are Jonesing to get away from the Fairfax group .
