Thanks Molly, I keep a food and exercise log but did not think of keeping a mood log. What a great tool to add. Thanks for your encouragment to keep on doing the right/best things.
Have a great day.

Topic: introducing myself
Hi, My name is Toni Ann, I live in NY.  Married to my husband for almost 11 yrs, but we've been together since high school (21 yrs). We have 2 beautiful boys.  I love Harleys, tattoos and friends.

I had the Lapband on December 9, 2009. And to date have lost 42 lbs.

Looking forward to making new friends!

Be honest with yourself.

People who have WLS generally lose between 60 and 80 percent of their excess weight. Also, people often regain about 10 to 15 pounds. This is normal. Being honest with yourself means identifying and accepting a weight that you can live with, even if it doesn't match that "magic number" on the scale.

If you have regained more than 10 to 15 pounds (or have not lost at least 60 percent of your excess weight within 18 months after surgery), it's time to take an honest look at your program. Most people know what they are doing that is sabotaging their weight-loss success. But it's important to keep in mind that on rare occasion a physical reason may impede your efforts such as a staple-line disruption. So, if you are "doing everything right" and still struggling with weight, talk to your surgeon.

Action for the day: Keep a food, mood, and exercise log this week. You don't have to do it forever, just this week. You'll be surprised at what you learn.

Topic: RE: Arm Yourself Against Exercise Excuses
I have the same conversations with myself when I am trying to go exercise. I have a 2 year old and a husband that has a 2 hr drive to work on both ends of his day. It is hard for me to find time to exercise....at least that is my excuse most of the time. I am working hard to not let that "negative me" win.

I have  learned that it is better for me to prep as much of my own food as possible. I was amazed at how many calories were in things I thought were ok for me. It is a learning process.

I want to be a good role model for my 2 year old. I don't want him to have the same eating issues that I have.

Good luck with reaching your goal weight before the end of the year. Sounds like your are making the right choices to get you there.

Welcome to the group, Bonnie!
Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.  Life can be very overwhelming the week before surgery.  Just don't forget to breathe!

Hang in there and best wishes,

Dear Dreamgirl,
Way to go. New thinking leads to new behavior. Making your own lower calorie meals makes so much sense.  For me it is day by day sometimes moment by moment choices that add up to my new healthier way of eating and living. I too pray to continue in this new way of living. I pray I never forget where I was.
Thanks for your encouragement to make daily good choices.
Blessings

Topic: Checking In...
This week was one of my most successful since transitioning from night work to day.  Carrying my "Survival Bag" and eating what's in it has been the key.  We have a full service cafeteria, and I found that there Vegetarian Mediterranean Chop Salad which I love is very high in calories.  It contains walnuts, feta cheese, dried cranberries and Mandarin oranges is delicious but not as low calorie as I would like to believe.  Making my own, has really made a difference.

Since having my surgery I have a new found respect for those that have had the surgery and able to reach their goal weight while dealing with the temptations of food during the day.  My prayer is too continue in my successful eating pattern and get to my goal weight before the end of the year.

Peace & Blessings,

Dreamgirl119
