I am new to this, not quite 2 weeks post op. i have struggling with getting in enough protein and fluids. I don't like the taste of the different protein products and I just don't drink fast enough to get all the fluids in.

Topic: Getting back on track - 20 lbs lost since March
In May I am very pleased with my progress.  I focused on my actions and thinking and I lost 10 pounds in May.  I am very happy with my progress thus far.  Despite my ups and downs on the scale this past 3 months I have still managed to lose 20 pounds March 5th & I am ecstatic about my progress.

I am still behind on my 8 pound a month average but that is quite OK with me.  I may or may not catch up.  The main thing is the scale is moving in the right direction.

May 2010 accomplishments:
I exercised 3 days a week at the gym.
Stuck closely to protein 1st rule.
Stayed with my calorie range most days.
Have been working on all or nothing attitudes and I have worked on more positive thinking.

June Goals:
Exercise at gym 5 days a week.
Eat more veggies and fruit.
Continue healthy positive self talk

Thanks again for your support.   It means more to me than words can say!

Hugs,
Molly

How much do you walk?
My company that I work for has started an employee wellness program,
Part of the program they have provided us with a pedometer and asked us to track our steps we take each day. With a goal of 10,000 or more per day for ten weeks
I have finished three weeks of wearing my pedometer, I am proud of myself that I have increased my walking over the last three weeks
The first week I walked 50,307 steps
The second week I walked 62,089 steps
This past week I walked 90,537 steps
This brings me to a total of 202,933 stepsI have set a personal goal to increase my steps each week during the 7 weeks left in the program This week wil be hard to do that as I was not felling well on sat and only got in about 4000 steps in Maybe it is time to get my Cain out and use it more and go for walks in the park or in the mall This may not seem like an accomplishment to everyone else but you must understand that I am a couch potato to the max so much so that if the TV remote is out of reach that I would watch what was on rather than to shift position and reach the control

I am struggling with many things, but taking them one day at a time and one struggle at a time.  I struggle with fast foods &  eating when I am not hungry (emotional eating) the most and these are the 2 biggest saboteurs on my efforts to get back on track.

Topic: Your Biggest Struggle ..,
What are you struggling with today in your WLS journey ? You may not have any struggles today but if you had some in the past , please share and tell us how you overcame these struggles.

AT this point in my journey , is remembering that I need to stick close to my WLS food plan ,
There are so many times when I go out to eat and order , forgeting that .. Fried food is not for me .
There are times I order it anyway and pay for it later , knowing after 6 years of doing this that I know better ,

The one thing I have conquered is Orange Soda --- about a year ago , I would go and by cans of Orange Crush , let them sit out over night and then pour over ice . I am proud to say I gave up all soda ... It hurts too bad , even if it sits out .

So please share today ...

Love ya ,
Tink

Motivational Quote - Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
SparkPeople Translation

People that quit because of failure are being shortsighted. It’s not their fault. They’ve bought into the popular idea that failure and success are opposite ends of the scale. You either achieve one or the other. This kind of thinking ignores the fact that they can actually be part of the same, longer-term process. A process that eventually, inevitably, results in triumph. Failure is just another step closer to your goal. Edison knew that every time one of his lightbulb prototypes blew up, he was that much closer to success than to ultimate failure. He knew that if he had enough failures (and he had thousands), that he would reach the right answer. And in the end, he is famous for that one right answer and his failures may well have never existed. So don’t give up on your dreams. You never know when you might hit on that right answer.
