Topic: RE: Feel like I'm going crazy
I think that's a pretty normal feeling. I too felt afraid it wasn't going to work.
It has~ I need to use this awesome tool but I still have my part of the work to do.
As you loose more weight and see the results you'll relax. I got very afraid when I had a couple week stall (no weight loss) early  after my surgery. You will figure out your body and the pace of your weight loss. Just be faithful to what your Dr. & Nut have told you to do.

i have those fears as well.  I just have to make it a point to concentrate on each success.  I am sure that it will be an on=going process.  But, look at it this way, it will keep us on our toes to stay on track.

Topic: Feel like I'm going crazy
I'm 9 days post-op (RNY) and following my surgeon's food recommendations.  Currently that's a full liquid diet; 4-6 ounces every 3 waking hours.  Although I've already lost some weight, I feel like I'm failing at this diet.  Regardless of other peoples' success, I have this gnawing fear that it's not going to work for me.  Maybe that's because everything else I've tried I've always failed at.  Did anyone else feel like this?  How did you get out of this funk?

Thanks for your help.

Topic: Look within for your answers.

Look within for your answers.

It is healthy to look within. To find peace and serenity, you must put pride and fear aside and take an honest look at yourself.

Find the courage and resolve to discover yourself. Find out what makes you tick. Find out how you sabotage yourself and why. Learn what really motivates you. Seeking fixes and answers outside of yourself can only take you so far. To achieve fulfillment, you must look within.

Action for the day: Spend five minutes today looking within. Sit quietly and breathe deeply. Ask yourself, "What is it that I need to find and acknowledge within myself to become healthy?"

This is such a simple but hard thing to do. I need to practice this in many areas of my life more often. Thanks Molly~

Be conscious today.

Sometimes people go through life performing their tasks without really thinking about them. It's easy to get so caught up in things that you don't pay attention to what's behind what you're doing.

Overeating can be an unconscious act. It is possible to think back on your day and realize you have been grazing a lot or that you ate the donut that was offered to you without even blinking. To make the lifestyle changes required of a WLS patient, you must learn to be present and aware as you go through your day.

Action for the day: Today, practice being conscious. With every action you take, pause first and ask yourself, "What am I doing and why?" In your journal, write about your discoveries.

I have frozen small portions, it works great. It also makes food selection easier.

I know several people that have done this. They will freeze it useing ice trays and then once frozen will put the pieces in a plastic bag.

after surgery can you freeze small portions like chicken and veggies already pureed, etc if you dont freeze the chicken be4 you make it. i just cant see wasting so much food when i am on a soft foods/pureed food diet.
