My first Halloween!
It's a beautiful fall day here in Ohio just a little over a week since Halloween. I sat outside on beggar's night with a neighbor and passed out candy without my usual "one for you-one for me" routine. Then there were the leftovers. We normally have around 200 kids, so my husband bought 10-12 bags of candy. I guess our neighborhood has grown up because we have several unopened bags left. I have left them unopened on purpose to avoid the temptation. Otherwise, I would be tempted to grab one every time I walked by.
And then there are those people that bring their leftover candy to work so they don't eat it at home! I wasn't perfect, but I did quite well. Normally, I would pick out all of the Butterfingers and stash them in my desk drawer. This year I only took one and ate it very slowly. Unfortunately, the candy didn't give me dumping syndrome or even bother me that much. What is really upsetting is that we went to a cook out over the weekend and I had a hamburger (no bun) and baked beans and dumped (actually vomitted twice) from that dinner! Boy, it was hard to find a place to vomit out of sight of my husband's friends. (We were in a big field to launch rockets.) Luckily, it was getting dark. I still know that I can't eat all the candy I want, but it is so frustrating to be doing what I think is right and still feel lousy.
My next temptation is vacationing in NYC over Thanksgiving with all the great food! Oh well, one day at a time!
