Distract yourself.

Eating out of boredom or to relieve anxiety can be a big problem for WLS patients. To avoid grazing for these reasons, you simply need to distract yourself. Distracting yourself means finding something to do or think about that is absorbing enough to put food out of your thoughts for awhile.

Other than food, what do you enjoy doing? Watching a movie? Calling a friend? Taking a walk? Organizing a closet?

Action for the day: In your journal, make a list of distractions that seem fun, interesting, and/or consuming for you. Post your list on the refrigerator and read it whenever you feel like grazing. Pick one or two distractions and give them a try.

This is a good idea!  I would say that my favorite is to read.
