Feel like I'm going crazy

I'm 9 days post-op (RNY) and following my surgeon's food recommendations.  Currently that's a full liquid diet; 4-6 ounces every 3 waking hours.  Although I've already lost some weight, I feel like I'm failing at this diet.  Regardless of other peoples' success, I have this gnawing fear that it's not going to work for me.  Maybe that's because everything else I've tried I've always failed at.  Did anyone else feel like this?  How did you get out of this funk?

Thanks for your help.

i have those fears as well.  I just have to make it a point to concentrate on each success.  I am sure that it will be an on=going process.  But, look at it this way, it will keep us on our toes to stay on track.

I think that's a pretty normal feeling. I too felt afraid it wasn't going to work.
It has~ I need to use this awesome tool but I still have my part of the work to do.
As you loose more weight and see the results you'll relax. I got very afraid when I had a couple week stall (no weight loss) early  after my surgery. You will figure out your body and the pace of your weight loss. Just be faithful to what your Dr. & Nut have told you to do.
Hugs

Thank you both for the encouragement and letting me know I'm not alone.

the feelings you feel are indeed normal.  But know that everything will be all right along the way.  The more you think on the positive attributes of the operation the less you can think on the negative.  Know that we are all here to support you along the way.  wishing you all the best...

Rykar,
It is totally normal . We went from eating just about anything we wanted to eating that of the size of a small walnut .
How can you be failing ? For the first 6 months your body is going to do the work mostly for you , with some help from exercise. You are in a small starvation mode .

You need to start looking in the mirror everyday and tell yourself that YOU ARE WORTH THIS , THAT YOU ARE A SUCCESS , AND A WINNER . You are going to need to be your biggest cheerleader right now . Do not give up before you get started .
Trust me a year from now , you will not know that person standing before you in that mirror .

With each pound you lose , try rewarding yourself .I found that when I lost 5 pounds and my clothes shrunk , I went and I put something on a wish list .
Think about how great you are going to feel .. the energy you are going to have . DO not let those demons take over in your head and destroy your happiness and success . We are here for you .

Come back each day and let us know how you are doing , let us share in your success . We are all now a part of one big family . And we rely on each other for inspiration .
Know I am here for you .
As I tell everyone here .. I am your Coach here .. and I delight in helping others ... so let me help you if I can . PM me and concerns you have and I will be more than happy to help you .
We Care ..
Love and Peace ,

Tink
