Your Biggest Struggle ..,

SWEET Tink
on 6/6/10 7:07 pm
What are you struggling with today in your WLS journey ? You may not have any struggles today but if you had some in the past , please share and tell us how you overcame these struggles.

AT this point in my journey , is remembering that I need to stick close to my WLS food plan ,
There are so many times when I go out to eat and order , forgeting that .. Fried food is not for me .
There are times I order it anyway and pay for it later , knowing after 6 years of doing this that I know better ,

The one thing I have conquered is Orange Soda --- about a year ago , I would go and by cans of Orange Crush , let them sit out over night and then pour over ice . I am proud to say I gave up all soda ... It hurts too bad , even if it sits out .

So please share today ...

Love ya ,
Tink

I am struggling with many things, but taking them one day at a time and one struggle at a time.  I struggle with fast foods &  eating when I am not hungry (emotional eating) the most and these are the 2 biggest saboteurs on my efforts to get back on track.

I am new to this, not quite 2 weeks post op. i have struggling with getting in enough protein and fluids. I don't like the taste of the different protein products and I just don't drink fast enough to get all the fluids in.

My struggle is an old habit of mine, making a point to eat. I tend to not eat even when I'm hungry. Stress is working me like a field slave and lately I've been allowing it to thwart my protein intake.  So I skip meals, but unfortunately, I end up trying to make up for it later in the day/night. Its a crazy cycle.

I'm glad it isn't affecting my fluid intake or I would be a dehydrated chick again.

I'm slowly getting back on track, but it is very difficult.

My biggest struggle is evening desire to eat. (old habit)
I'm trying to stay busy in the evening. If I give in I limit the damage by measuring out what I eat, eat it on a plate and choose something healthy ie. baby carrots, green/red peppers, sugar free popcicles. I would guess that this is a long lasting monster that will rear it's ugly head from time to time.

i havent had surgery yet but im in the approval process of supervised dieting. getting the fluids in is really hard, but for me giving up the pop and chips is where i am struggling. luckilly shes taking me one step at a time and trying to get rid of the pop first, then next month chips. i know i want this and need to change but its the hardest thing ive ever had to do, and i know the journey just gets harder.
