I think I have given up on night time eating

Nighttime eating?  I still have this problem.  I am working on it but it is a real challenge.  Some nights I do great.  Tonight is not one of them.  I pretty much have resolve myself to I can not stop eating at night.  I just make sure I don't exceed calories and that is where exercise calories help a lot.  It it had not been for them, I would not be losing as much weight now.  I try not to eat more than half of my exercise calories but my nite time eating is making this impossible.

I keep jello cups and pickles and this helps too when I get the munchies.  I like pickles but jello is just OK but it does the trick sometimes and it is only 5 calories.

I am really not asking for suggestions, I know them all.  I just want to know if any one understands this issue. And have any of you given up on not eating at night and just choose wiser choices at night.  I know when I weighed in 500's I would eat fast foods late at night and then go to bed.  So I have come a long way, but sometimes I feel I should be able to stop eating after a certain time period.  Oh well and life goes on.  Thanks for letting me vent.

I don't want to give up the fight but as long as eating very low calorie stuff is working for me, I just don't feel like I should continue to fret.  Your thoughts?  Please.

Boy do i understand Molly,  I have gotten in the bad habit of eating right before going ot bed.  I don't know if it is from boredom or what, but Idefinitely need to change this destructive habit.  Good luck to you.

This is a difficult thing for me too. I hate it. I can do great all day making good food choices and I get to the evening and want to eat.  I too have come a long way since my highest weight days but I'd really like to do better. I have days where it is not so much of a problem then I hit days where It is a big problem.  For me I know it's old habits but I wonder if there isn't some hormone that goes wild at night ( just an idea).  I too have some low calorie things available for when I give in. For me I use baby carrots, sweet and crunchy helps.
We just keep hanging in there and talk about with others who understand.
Have a great weekend
Hugs,
Annie

I think many people deal with this situation; I know I do!  I found a great recipe on the box of S/F jello that is light and filling.  I usually make this 2x a week and have enough for every night.  Take 1 box of s/f jello (any flavor you like), stir in 3/4 c boiling water; stir until dissolved. Pour into blender; combine 1/2 c cold water and enough ice to make 1 1/4 cups and add to blender.  Blend for 30 seconds.  Add 1/2 cup Lite (or Fat Free) Cool Whip and blend until smooth. Pour into 4 cups and refrigerate for 20-30 mins.  I can eat this every night and not feel guilty and I even put a little extra Cool Whip on top.  It is very good.
