Hello everyone,

My name is Susan and I am in Norfolk Virginia. I had RNY surgery on August 11th, 2009, so I am almost 8 months out. I feel so blessed to have this journey that I am on, however I too have issues that I am dealing with. My life has drastically changed and I am so happy for the changes. God is working in my life and I am working to be a faithful servant to him.

One thing that I have noticed that now, almost 8 months out, I have relaxed with the rules. I have only measured my food 2 times this past week, and I have even indulged in sugar - free ice cream. The ice cream is the worst because it's not filling, high in carbs, and is just too delicious. I have also ate fruit everyday this week. Yesterday I ate more than I should have and I no longer beat myself up over it, but rather tell myself that I need to get control. Today I brought my food for breakfast and lunch, its nutritious and within the right serving size. I have been a little disappointed with myself because this last 20 lbs has been so hard for me. I have even gained and lost 1 lb for the past week. I want to reach my goals, I want to be healthy and I want to live the lifestyle that I have dreamed of, you know the active lifestyle (running, biking ect). I have been moving for the past 2 weeks, and the stress of dealing with separating from my husband has been hard. In the past I had turned to food when stressed  and it seems to be the same today. I am trying to conquer that and find alternatives.

Sorry to ramble on and I can't wait to meet some of you.

Susan

Hi Susan,

Welcome to the group as we are very excited to have you.  I am just reading about your incredible journey and celebrate your incredible weight loss this far.  Through your trials and tribulations, I am just going to ask you to take "one day at a time."  You will have some good days and some bads days but know that your good ones will 'always' outweigh your bad ones.

We are here to support you on your weight loss journey and in this journey it is about renewing your mind to definitely do whats right.  Know that each day will be different and sometimes when we make mistakes it strengthens us to not make the same ones again.  You have traveled too far and too long to ever go back so let that pivot you to the successes to conquer looking ahead and moving forward.  You have so much to aspire to in your life now and shoot for that greatness each and every day.  Much success to you in your WLS journey.

Hi Susan , I am Natalie , most here know me as Tink. I am the leader of this fine group.
We are so glad to have you .
I can so relate to where you are . You have began to do the right things ... hold your self accountable. You must remember that they changed our plumbing but not our brains. We have to be the ones that take control over that part of our journey.

You need to recognize what is causing the grazing and the bad choices . Stress is a big factor in most cases. You can beat yourself up all you want , but it will not do any good unless you begin to change.
My suggestions would be to keep a food journal .. I use
WWW.FITDAY.COM
I am 6 years out almost and try not to miss a day . It can show you the foods you are eating, the calories and it can also track your exercise .

I also run a Mentor program for those wanting to get back on track. It is a free service as I m a Bariatric Life Coach for OH . If you are interested go to
WWW.VAWLSEVENTS.COM

We can work together via email or on the phone . I would love to help you to reach your goals.
You can do this . But you must believe in yourself and never give up .

Again we welcome you and look forward to reading about your success.

Be blessed and know you are loved and respected for taking on this disease we call Obesity .

Tink
