Diet = Defeat...Doesn't it?

One of the goals I developed for myself early post-op was to never diet again.  I started dieting as a pre-schooler and kept it up right into my 40s.  I was in my 30s before I even realized that I had never Learned to eat Normally!  I decided that I was going to learn now, in the post-op honeymoon, to eat in a normal, healthy way and then continue that for the rest of my life.

I am now looking at diets, desperate to find a way back to losing weight again...and I feel defeated.  That I might have to diet again signifies defeat to me.  I am having a hard time reconciling this for myself.

Any thoughts?

You are never defeated Lisa .
What I did that may help you is take the word diet , out of your vocabulary .
I call what I do , healthy eating . " Diet" is just a reminder of defeat for me ..

The first steps you can try is to look at your food choices .
Look at the times and cir****tances in which you are eating . Are you eating because you need to fuel your body ? Are you stress eating , are you comfort eating ?

Once we can identify these things , Then we can work on behavior modification on doing away with the bad food choices .

As to finding what foods are right for you , to assist in the weight loss .. you need to look at proteins first , Veggies second and then a carb .

You may want to contact your nutritionist to have him or her develop a plan for you. I can only tell you things I have done .
Here is one example .

Protien intake went up to 120 grams ,
Calories no more than 1200
Increase your water. If you are doing 60 oz take it up to 90
Exercise .. you gotta move to lose. If you are working out , change up your work out . Your body becomes happy with your work out , your mucles adapt .. changing it up , will also increase your motabolism .
By doing this , I was able to continue on in my journey to never plateua and to loose the 225 pounds.

I hope this helps , if you have question let me know .. that is what I am here for .

Hugs .. and I know you can do this !

Ok, in the middle of thinking about things like diet pills and starvation, I stopped and sent an email to my nutritionist, asking for a meeting ASAP.  Thanks, Tink.
