Goals . ( List them Below ) This can be as many as you want , but remember to only set what you truly think you can manage.

1. What behaviors are you looking to change ? I've got to hold myself more accountable - no more mindless munching, need to go back to logging my food & water intake, stick to my exercise schedule and do whatever it takes to get the most out of my surgery.

2. What behaviors are you looking to gain ? Accountability. I know what works for me and I just have to be committed to follow through with it.

3. What action or behavior . messed it up for you today if any ? Today was a good day for me. I logged my food & water intake. I didn't make it to the gym but I did spend some time on the Wii (bowling & playing tennis). Probably not as active as I should have been BUT since I really only wanted to curl up on the sofa with a book I think it was an acceptible alternative.

4. What action or behavior helped you to achieve or change one of your behaviors . Knowing that I would post on here helped me to follow through.

This is exactly the type of responce I wanted to see !!
I am so proud of you ..
Keep it up and I am sure you will stay on track .
Accountablity to me is what holds me in place. If I make it known as to what I need to do , and either write it down or publi**** ... I normally stick to it .

Great Job !

Goals . ( List them Below ) This can be as many as you want , but remember to only set what you truly think you can manage.

1. What behaviors are you looking to change ? I would like to quit smoking completely, I am down to only doing it when I drink. I want to learn to love myself for exactly who I am & not what I think I should be.

2. What behaviors are you looking to gain ? More positive opinion of myself. More confidence in myself.

3. What action or behavior . messed it up for you today if any ? Damn peanut M & Ms. I ate five when I walked past the open bag. Tomorrow is a new day.

4. What action or behavior helped you to achieve or change one of your behaviors . I am not drinking for the  next 30 days to help with my efforts to stop smoking and taking more "me" time each day to get a better understanding of who I really am.

Jennifer - I agree with the "me" time idea and what you hope to gain from it.  It's so easy to get swept away by everything around us and this is a way to hopefully stay grounded. Good Luck with the not smoking and drinking. I know for myself the two have always gone hand in hand too.

Jennifer ,
This is an excellent start !!

Do you remember if there was anything that triggerd you to eat those M and M's ?
Other than putting away the M and M's , what could you have done to avoid eating them .
Is there a healthier snack you can put out when you want something like this ?
For me , I always have on hand Sugar Snap Peas .. these little joys give me crunch and sweet all at the same time .
And yes .. tomorrow is yet another day  !!

I am sure you are going to reach your goals .. Just keep striving to reach them !

Funny, but I realized that some of the first habits I needed to change were more indirectly related to weight than directly.  For instance, I need to get back on a normal sleep schedule.  I've been going between insomnia and severe fatigue and have, for the last few days, been trying to force myself out of it.  My goal is to get up at 8 and be in bed by midnight.  This will get me away from late night munching and help me keep a regular schedule for eating and getting in all my water.

I also need to stop eating and drinking together.  This one is hard to get back to!  I'm working on it.

Getting in the 64+ oz of liquids is another goal, as well as stopping "bored snacking."

Lisa !
This is awesome ..
I know so well about the sleep issues .. I have them too . My pain doc wants me to stop sleeping with the tv on .. so far .. it has worked .. but I have still had nights of no sleep .

As to your bored snacking ..
Try to determine if there is a certain time of the day that this happens ..
When you think you want to snack , try going for a walk .. call a friend ..
Try to identify if there is something that is triggering this ... and work to see what you can change to end this .

I know you can do this !
