LGBT Support Group

Hi Everyone,

After stressing out about finding a support group in my area I decided to start my own. First, because I couldn't find one in my area and second, because I could find a LGBT one!

As a person in the LGBT community I find it important to support one another through difficult decisions. For myself this has been one of the hardest decisions I have had to make... This and deciding I would put my high heels in the trash once and for all! But that's another blog...

I graduate today after the 12 wk. required classes @ Kaiser. This has been a life changing process in itself. When I first signed up I was all the way in with the idea of the Lap Band procedure, but after just one class I quickly realized that wasn't going to happen: due to my diabetic condition I was informed that the Gastric ByPass Procedure was my only option...

Needless to say that's when the stress and sleepless nights started. I got myself into therapy and decided I was going to deal with my issues head on! Well that opened up another whole can of worms... Which is also another post!

Today I am still struggling with the stress, but I am a much more educated, self-aware and self-confident person going in to surgery. Though I don't have a date yet, I will soon.

I want to invite all like minded persons to join in and support this group so together we can make a difference on person at a time.

Look forward to meeting you all, cause I know I'm not alone!
