back down to 229#.  Still  haven't heard from docs re:surgery date. My Dr. is Zorn, anyone have him?  I'm amazed because my body is in such rebellion, all I want is sweets & fat!!  Trying to keep in check but I'm under a lot of stress & I know that is why but I want to be able to handle my stress by not eating/giving in to my cravings.  What am I going to do?  I should already have this under control, in fact, I thought I did.

Did you get the rou-n -y?  I am also afraid of not getting all the fluids in  I can barely do it now & I  haven't even had the surgery yet.  I'm glad you are feeling well enough to run around though I understand trying to get everything done before returning to work.  Be kind to yourself & don't over do it, you may find it kicking you in the butt later - when you return to work.  Congrat's on the weight loss!

YAY for gas and not having to blame it on the dog!

Believe me, I'm probably going to be just like you post surgery. I have to be able to get around because I can only rely on myself. Thankfully, I do not have to attend classes until 7 days post surgery rather than 4. That should help a whole lot.

So what are you eating right now? Just protein shakes and clear liquids?

So today was the day....

I have been so bloated since surgery. It's made me very uncomfortable, not only because I looked 8 months pregnant, but my skin hurt. It was so taunt and hard.

At the exercises class at Mercy after surgery, they told us to sleep on our backs. Well. That's not an option for me unless I'm hooked to an IV full of dilaudid. The Occupational Therapist running the class said he was the same...he can't sleep on his back..., and suggested I sleep on my side using a body pillow.

For the first few days I tried it, it was just OK. Last night I wanted a good night sleep, so I slept in my favorite position...on my belly! I guess that did the trick cuz I farted all night. I feel tons better today. I didn't have to put on stretchy pants this morning. My regular clothes finally fit (loosely.)

Today was also the first day I made dookie. For those of you who have had babies...it was like the very first BM of a newborn. Like tar, and super duper foul and stinky...yuck. But I felt way better. Apparently the seal is broken and now I have the runs. That's ok tho...I feel normal today.

I have been a bad girl. I have been driving everywhere and doing everything. I only have one week from surgery before I go back to work, so I don't feel I get to just rest. I have stuff to get in order, so the transition back to work is much easier (ie. grocery shopping, meal planning, laundry, cleaning, etc.). I'm assuming working will make me tired and I won't want to do those things AND work, so I better get them done now. Plus, I get bored easily. It's a nice distraction.

I have stopped using the dosage cups to measure my intake. It was just stressing me out. My body didn't want to follow there rules. I kept getting painful heartburn and burps. So, now I just take TINY sips every 10-20 minutes. If I sip to much I just hold half in my mouth, until I'm sure the first half goes down OK. Seems to be working, although I'm nervous to tell the doctor if he asks.

Tomorrow ...Dr. Tanaka appointment.

Boy this is one of those "things happen for a reason" events.  I guess the only thing you can do is to think about how difficult it would be if you tried to make it happen when things aren't lining up right.  Of course none of this makes you feel better. Deb

You know what is wondeful is that this time when you say I am going to lose weight, it really is going to happen. That struck me pretty hard the other day. We get so used to going on a diet and not being successful that you knid of shutdown it ever becoming a reality. But with this surgery it really will happen. Now it will be up to us to make enough changes to keep it off!!

In my office there's a young women, well she's young to me, who lost over 150 lbs 9 years ago. She told me the other day that she has gained 25 lbs back over that time BUT that means she is a size 10 and not a 6 and looks great. She is so thrilled and healthy now. I've watched her over the years and see that it really is possible! Remeber that young woman is going tobe you!!! And you will be healthy and feel good. No more nasty people making snide comments and all the othr demoralizing things we've had to deal with over the years. I cna't wait to take my first comfortable plane ride!!!!!!!! These are things ot keep in mind. And pray!! Deb

Yes, July was an awful month, must have been something in the thick, sultry air!!! So sorry about the back because there is no getting comfortable with it. Becca is so right about the weight loss helping, as well as the surgery!.
I am surprised at how fast everyone has heard back about their surgery dates. I thought it was 3 weeks at least. Thats exciting to hear it might be sooner. i just had my doc appts yesterday so as soon as I hear I'll post it.
Take care and I will say some prayers for your surgery!!!
