I don't really have anyone who will be able to email or post how I'm doing or what room I'm in. But I will have my netbook and phone with me so I can probably let you guys know myself once i'm functional.
In the past I've just gone to level 5 and asked at the nurses station what room people were in. So if any of you find out before I do, you're welcome to post it.
I'm super excited, and a little anxious.

Dam! I am so excited for you. I know you will do well.
The only words of advice I have is, treat your hospital stay like a vacation. Make sure you do what you want...not always what the nurses tell you. Get as much sleep as possible and enjoy the ride.
Is someone going to post your room number, or can we text you in the hospital? was gonna try and come by and say "HI" during your stay.
Have I mentioned...I'm so excited for you!!!!!

So it's Veronica's and my turn for surgery this week.
I think I am as prepared as I can be. Not sure how the home life will be once I get out of hospital. I know my ex won't be supportive or helpful so I'm going to have to try and be as self-sufficient as possible.
I will stay the first night or two out of hospital at my 'Aunts' house. She's not really my Aunt, but she treats me like I'm family, and she said I can rest up in her guest quarters so I don't have to deal with the ex or with my dog straight away. One of my biggest concerns was having my 90lbs dog get excited when I come home and jump all over me, so hopefully with taking a few extra days to recover with minimal outside stresses, will help.
Two more days of work, then pre-op on Wednesday and under the knife Thursday! YAY!!

Yeah, I get the celebrate vitamins. I found the prices reasonable for being specifically bariatric vitamins and I could justify the cost (above regular vitamins) because I won't be spending nearly as much money on food!! LOL
Celebrate has a bigger variaty of flavors for the vitamins, plus they do B12 sublinguals (although I just get those from CVS), they have Vita D, Calcium, Iron +C, and others. I bought a couple of bottles of different flavors just so I can mix it up and not get tired of the same old thing.
www.celebratevitamins.com and go to the shop area. You can email them for a sample pack free of charge, if you want to taste them again.

The first two weeks I used premier premade shakes 30gm protein. And I had Unjury chicken soup 21gm protein (it's vegetarian, and tastes good) once a day, and I would try and get in a glass of water, with crystal light and a scoop of unflavored Unjury 20gm protein.
Now I'm using pure protein powder double scoop (that's what the doc told me to do) 50gm protein, It's cheaper than the premade shakes and doc says I can have milk products to mix it with (finally). Still doing the unflavored Unjury (most days) and Unjury Chix soup (everyday).
Went online today to see if I could find a more concentrated protein supplement , like 15-20gm protein per 1oz liquid. Found a couple, will let you know if they taste decent.
My Friend Shelley (aka pumkindoodle) gave me Proteinex (pix below) to try....ggaaaag...they almost made me puke. Can't do them. It's 1oz and 18gm protein, but taste like ****!
I am taking OPURITY vitamins. I order them from the same site as the Unjury products.
PROS:
1. You only take once a day
2. They are made for Bariatric patients
3. They use better ingredients than cheap vitamins
4. Reasonably priced
5. They are chewable
CONS:
1. They only come in one flavor (it's sour, but I like sour)
2. They are REALLY big (have to bite in half and eat one half then eat the other right after)
3. The website only offers muti vit and calcium, no other vitamins
Sian takes ones from Celebrate vitamins. She said she likes them. Not sure which flavors she takes.
Still have my fingers crossed for your surery date phone call
