This is great advice.  Today was my birthday, and Iwanted cake and ice cream SO badly.  My fiance found sugar free brownies and frosting, along with ice cream.  It was all delicious, and my family agreed.  For dinner we had breakfast.  My mom made me french toast (wheat bread, egg, sugar free syrup), and it ws good too!  This is the first time I've branched away from eggs, beans, protein shakes.  Everything seems fine so far...we'll see.

I don't get full as easily as Becca does.  I'm jealous!  I can eat a whole egg with cheese and a piece of toast in one sitting.  Then I get hungy in a few hours.  I still WANT all that yummy food I used to eat.  I miss it, but I'm findng that there are alternatives that are just as good.

Good luck to everyone!

PS-Cheers, Becca!  nice job on not drinking!

My tummy actually has no problem with sweets. Although I do feel physically tired after. The sugar drains me.

The smell of food doesn't do much for me. I sample food when I want to try something and then just account for the calories. If I have already used quite a few calories one day, I will put a bite size portion away for the next day. Food actually isn't fun for me anymore. Two bites and I'm full...and I mean FULL!!!!

I have been doing so well losing weight, I'm scared to branch out too far from my normal diet with extras(ie. sweets, alcohol, bread)... I just have like a dime size taste of these once in a while. Haven't had any alcohol yet. I might have a sip tonight and see how it affects me....then again I'll probably be too full from the two bites of dinner to fit anything else in!!!

oooh....good good advice. I'll be using your lines since I don't want to talk about it with others either. i'm curious, how did the sweets work???? Did you WANT to eat, did you WANT to taste the wine???Did the smell of anything that you used to love, turn your tummy? Let us know how tonight goes???:)D

This is gonna be a busy weekend for me. My only (non stepbrother or sister's) niece is getting married tomorrow. My family is a bunch of lushes...they all like to drink, party and eat!

We went to the rehearsal dinner last night (about 60 people...only two knew about surgery, my husband and my daughter) and there was tons of family, food and liqueur.

I was nervous that someone would notice or question my eating, because I have always been a big foodie and a big drinker.

It ended up being great! I had to fib a couple times, but I figured that is fair play considering people were asking some personal questions....right???

Here it goes...

"why aren't you drinking?" - I'm the designated driver and I have to pick up my daughters friend later and I don't want to smell like liqueur
"you have to taste this wine"- If I have one sip and it's that good then I'll want more, so no thank you
"don't you want more appetizers?"-no I'm saving room for my main di****'s gonna be really yummy
"why aren't you eating your salad?"- it's Cesar, and I don't eat anchovies
"why aren't you eating the new salad with different dressing?"- the dressing is really sweet. I'll wait til the main coarse
"how come you didn't finish your dinner?"-it was just a wee bit over cooked, so I'm saving my appetite for dessert
"do you want dessert?"-yes, but only if someone shares with me
"you have to have champagne for the toast"- sure I'd love a small glass (*I tipped my glass for every toast, but never opened my mouth to let any go down the pipe..and no one even noticed my glass never went down...lol)

So I took a few bites of everything, made everyone try my food, so my plate looked more empty, and then pick at and scattered my food on the plate so it looked like it had been eaten on. I guess I just seemed like a picky biatch now, but at least I didn't have 60 people asking me about weight loss surgery all night.

The wedding is tonight...I hope my tricks from last night work again!

PS. Soon people will get used to the new picky, healthy, skinny Becca and It will be easier (I hope)

Yeah, it is a DVD that they give you, so if you don't have the DVD player capabilities on your computer then it won't ever work.

I'll send the email today. Stupid blackout prevented me from sending last night.

231 today....32 pounds gone forever!

My CD from PB didn't work either. My friend Shelley said it has stuff on it that is more geared to after surgery. I never ended up watching it.

Congrats! your surgery will be here in no time

No its shows DVD which my computer doesn't have.  It only has CD capabilities.  Yes, if you could send me a PDF I'd appreciate it.  My e-mail is j: [email protected].

When the CD is in your computer, are you able to see the CD rom drive when you are in "My computer"?

That will ultimately tell us if it's a CD problem, or your CDrom drive.

Either way, I have the file that is on the CD saved on my computer as a PDF. I am email it to you if you like, will just need your email address (You can send me a private message rather than post it here on the boards).

I have classes tonight, so I wouldn't be able to email until later.

I am up to 230#., not too discouraged - its been so HOT!  I'm probably retaining water.  I have a question for you all-- I cannot get my CD to run from Pacific Bariatric.  This is my second disc because I couldn't get the first one to work.  Any Tips?  Any problems you all have with getting your's to run? I freaking out a bit because surgery is a week from tommorrow.  And Deanna I am a 7:30am
case.
