I have moved to WA state

hello wonderful ladies.....well, I did it. I retired on July 1 and moved to WA state on July 9. My furniture and 4 pianos weighed in at 12,100 lbs and all arrived safely on the 13th. The drive was brutallly hot and emotional as the thinking and processing of 60 years in San Diego was comign to an end. The vet gave me mild tranquilizers for the dogs so they were quite happy but the african violets didn't like the heat. I am trying to pamper them back to life. My new home is awesome, we moved a manufactured home onto the back of my kids' property and it is just perfect for me....large living room, kitchen, dining room and den with big front porch and 2 nice bedrooms. My master bedroom has the largest walkin closet and spa bathroom that I've ever seen and boy do I need the tub daily as we work pretty hard on the property. I'm doing great with my weight, 9 lbs under goal and looks like I can maintain it. I miss all of you and periodically will be in San Diego so maybe we can plan a date. For the teachers in our group......I'm goign to work on the first day of school....I'm getting on a plane and goign to Hawaii. Would love to hear from you....you can use my personal address of    [email protected]      loved reading Krystine's last post...hugs:)Deanna

Deanna,
Congrats on your retirement. This move sounds great even though I am sure you probably would like to have taken a few of the dogs tranquilizers at some point!! It's such a huge step but hey its been a year of huge steps hasn't it. Glad your move hsan't played havoc with your weight, good for you!
God bless you and look forward to hearing your new adventures. Debra

hi Debra...so good to hear from you. How are you doing???How's your mom and the house thing? Yeah, I've pretty much stayed to my eating plan, the few times I stray, I pay!!!So....got to take care of that little tumtum. i am goign to HA tomorrow for 8 days with my sister in law....since it's the first day of school, I decided a retired teacher should go on vacation. I will probably be off line for a while but will catch up later....tell me how you are doing...tata:)D

Glad to hear your move went well, I had been wondering about you since my classes at SDSU started up again a few weeks ago.

Sounds like you are living quite the high life with your new pad and spa bathroom!! =)

hi lovely lady.....loved reading your latest post. I wouldn't say the HIGH LIFE but it is definately slower and more relaxed....very few deadlines or schedules to keep. My house still hasn't closed escrow, hopefully this month and then an investor will turn it into a mini dorm......we are all sad but there isn't anything more that i can do in this economy. Hope you get straight A's in school.....sending my love:)D
