Really Struggling
Hi all,
I am really struggling right now. I have been the same weight for at least 2 weeks. I am starting to eat a lot of things that i shouldn't be. Which means a lot of carbs. I can't eat alot at one time but I am snacking, a handful here and there. I should be happy considering I've lost 60 lbs since Oct 12th but instead I feel very depressed and can only think about the weight I have left to lose and don't feel like I will be. Have any of you gone to one of hte support meeting at PB? I think I need to make it to the one for January. I think part of my problem is the really saggy flesh I am seeing. WOW! I knew it would be there but I guess I didn't really believe it. Anyway any ideas on how to jump start my weight loss??
Debra
Oh see you on the 28th, we will be getting more info on where correct?

hi Deb...sorry to hear that you are struggling. I get inspiration when I look at the pictures of previous loosers on the OH site and the time frame that it took them.....some it took a year...but they all get there. I noticed that I was starting to snack a bit and made a conscious decision to STOP...I eat protein if I am hungry. Also, I have pretty much quite weighing myself and am just trying to enjoy the experience of getting smaller. You are proud of yourself...right!!!!!!
I guess we are waiting for Sara to give us the word on time and place for the 28th:)D

Hi Debra. I did have a little period of where I started snacking too. But my stomach actually stopped me from continuing down that path. My stomach gets so tight and uncomfortable when I eat a bread product that I just don't do it anymore.
My only suggestion is to be strong and tough on yourself. Our restricted diet is not a forever thing, but it is needed right now. Try and tell yourself that it's not that you won't be able to eat certain things ever again, but that right now, it is not what you need. Also, maybe try eating a bit more protein?? (not 100% sure on this). I find that when I have protein meals, my snacking is drastically reduced. When I'm getting my 100g of protein a day, I'm barely hungry and end up having to force myself to consume a little extra. Try a few different things and see what works for you, but most of all, hang in there, be strong =)
As for the skin issue......*sigh*, yeah, I have some saggy skin too. Mainly my arms and the upper fat roll on my stomach. I'm not happy about it, but would rather it be saggy than filled with fat. For me, it's the better of two evils.
As far as I know, the 28th still sounds like a plan. But as Deana mentioned, I'm still waiting for a confirmation. I'm definitely up for a picnic and walk through Balboa. I can bring my camera too for anyone who wants some pictures taken.

I count calories. That way if I have some of the "forbidden food", I either have to exercise like a crazy woman to earn more food calories, or skip the next meal. I really makes me think about everything that goes in my mouth...I stop and think to myself "is this worth it? You know you're gonna want something later, and you won't be able to eat." sometimes it's totally worth it, sometimes I stop. Food and I are friends now, and there really isn't anything that makes me sick, even alcohol is fine in moderation. I count those calories so I am still able to lose weight.
86 pounds gone and down to a size 12 . only 36 pounds left to lose. that is a comfortable 9/10 for my body.
Just remember the further out you are from surgery, the harder it is to lose the weight. Make sure you take advantage of the "golden" months, where it is easier to lose. My body is getting used to 700 calories a day and it is much harder to lose these days. BUT i still consider 10-12 pounds a month pretty good.
Don't beat yourself up, just be realistic...if you cheat you don't lose...if you stay (close to) the plan you will lose. See ya on the 28th
