Hey ladies,
Just wondering how everyone is doing? Haven't heard from some of you in a while.
I'm at 213 today.
I started a new job, and have continued with some of my previous clients. It was a crazy week! I barely had time to eat and 10-12 hour days kicked my ass! I'm sure I will get adjusted. This week was just hard....only walked a few times total this week instead of twice a day.

Hey Becca,
Like you, I've been crazy busy too. Who knew that this new life would take up so much of our time, along with our regular life duties.
Still working full-time, still going to school full-time (which I am loving attending SDSU by the way), and on top of it, I am also training for a 5k (the couch to 5k training schedule) AND I joined Gracie Barra Escondido (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). If I'm not working, studying, exercising then I'm most likely sleeping because it seems to fill every minute of every hour!
So far I've lost a total of about 60lbs. I'm beyond happy. I've gone from wearing an XXL top, and size 20/22 pant, to a L or maybe XL top (if I want extra space), to a size 16 pant. It just blows me away. I can see my old athletic body coming back into shape, of course with a few saggy and baggy bits on it, but that's ok with me. I have amazing amounts of energy.
Right now, I'm still lucky to get in about 500 calories a day (on a good day), but Dr. Rumsey said he was ok with this. He told me not to be too concerned with calories right now, and just to listen to what my body is telling me. If I'm hungry and feel like I need to eat, then do so, but just eat the right things. I'm also taking in about 60-85g of protein a day, I've tried pushing for more, but I'm simply not hungry most of the time. I do have to force myself to eat, which is frustrating. And I can still only eat about 1/4 cup of food at a time, if that.
I hope everyone else is doing well and that Janet is on the mend.

hi Becca and Sian, I guess crazy week is going around. I've had one too.....not only learning that my caseload was increasing, it is our production week and of course I am the musician for the show. We have been rehearsing every night till 7 or 8, that means i get to school about 7:30 am and don't leave until 7 or 8 pm. The shows were today and so now that project is over. I took a nice nap in between shows today down at Tourmaline surf park. I used to surf there when I was a teen so it's a nice place. The long hours do take their toll and I'm pooped out but am still doing well. I'm at 195 and today some of the moms noticed that I look like I had lost some weight. I told them that I was off of caffiene which lead to being off of sugar and then to fewer carbs.....how does that sound???? I talked to Janet yesterday and she is home safe and sound but is pretty house bound...hopefully she will write to all of you soon. Isn't is about time that we all get together for some chit chat???:)D
I second the motion! We should all get together. My hubby and I went and stayed overnight in Cardiff yesterday. Today we went and walked Encinitas. Both areas have a great sense of fitness and lots of places to walk and hang.

PS. Good job with the mom's...In my opinion, it's fine to tell half truths. That is exactly what you are doing...giving up caffeine, sugar and carbs and the weight is coming off.... They don't need to know you had surgery too.

Saturdays are hard for me cuz my daughter plays travel soccer. But typically my Sundays are wide open. I'm a total morning person :)
Swami's is nice. There is room to park and they have tons of little shops to check out and places to get a smoothie or (decaf) coffee.
There is also the SRF gardens at Swami's but it doesn't open until 11:00 :(
Anyhow, we could walk the beach and check out the tide pools, then treat ourselves to a fruit smoothie afterwards!
