progress report
hi all! My hospital stay was hell - with high anxiety & hot and cold flashes.and diarhea starting on my 1st postop day-I was creating a rut to the bathroom! I was also having auditorry hallucinations. and couldn't think straight. I was blessed to have Deanna with me who talked with me when I needed it.. Once home I started vomiting- I must say it didn't hurt, when I had my entire stomach it hurt a lot when vomiting.
So now I'm vomiting a lot, I'm constantly dizzy and having jerking of my arms & legs, with tremors in my hands. Dr. said to change my vitamins which was one of my triggers for vomiting. Was taking Celebrate vit's now I trying Centrum, which I promptly threw up --This could become expensive! I'm exhausted and after 1 1/2 wks I've only lost 2 lbs! I expected more. My Dr. said the jerking, etc.was the shock to my system.
I wish I hadn'nt done this surgery. But I also know I would have always wondered if this would have changed my life. I know I have to live with it now. But recovery is rough.

Hang in there Janet. Sorry to hear you are having a tough time, but I'm positive that it will get better for you. You are still in the newbie stages post-surgery. You body needs to get over the shock of what has been done and how to cope with it. This will pass and I have no doubt that you will see amazing results and also see a drastic change in your health.
Much love you to you! Stay strong, and don't doubt what you did.

I agree with Sian...you just need time to heal. Trust me, 6 months from now I am gonna bring back up this post and you will giggle that you even thought of not having the surgery.
Recovering sucks. Especially for us moms. With kids you still have to function even if you feel like crap. Vomit in one hand, groceries in the other.... you never get a vacation.
Think of this whole experience like pregnancy. There are many parts of pregnancy that are painful, make you sick, and train wreck your body, but the final outcome is so worth it. I know it's very, very, very, very hard right now, but try and think of the pay off that will eventually come.
here is a quote that made me think of you...

Don't lose your overall perspective. Weight loss is an uphill battle, if it were easy, everyone would do it.
Take care, and SERIOUSLY, if you need anything let me know.

Dear Sweet Janet... yes, it was a rough one but I know for positive that the nursing staff on that first couple of days wasn't always kind to you. So what are you eating? Are you putting too much into your little pouch at a time? I find that if I sip slowly over a long period of time, everything stays down and stays put. I saw a doc today and he told me to cut my pills in half and only take a half pill. I did that tonight and I feel good.....like the other ladies said......DON'T GIVE UP.....YOU ARE WORTH IT and a WONDERFUL SWEET LADY.....your friend:) Deanna
Hey Janet, I just had a thought. When I was pregnant the pre natal vitamins would make me sick. The doctor had me split them in half, taking half in the AM (with food!!!) and half in the PM (with food!!!). Vitamins on an empty stomach can make you want to hurl and give you cold sweats. Just the other day I was in a hurry and I popped my vitamins before I ate. Thirty minutes later (I still hadn't eaten breakfast) and I thought the vitamins might come back up. They made my stomach feel icky.
