Following the Doctor's Orders
I saw Dr. Tanaka on Thursday (and Becca who looks fabulous!). I had only lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks. I've been cheating on the diet plan. I added in potatoes, pretzel thins and sugar free pudding. I also was snacking. Dr. Tanaka said to know off the snacking because it was keeping me from losing weight. Even though I snacked, I never ate more than 900 calories in a day. Yesterday I tried not snacking and viola! 2lbs gone. I was hungry, but I just stayed strong. I ate about the same amount of calories as I normally do, but because I didn't spread them out through the day it seems to have helped. I'm down to 220 now, and I feel good! I'm sticking to Doc orders from now on!
Good for you girl! Drs know best.....sometimes LOL.
I stalled this week. It was the inevitable 4 week stall, but I've still lost 26lbs since surgery, and almost 50-ish since my heaviest. I will be having my one and a bit month check-up with Rumsey on Oct 7th and I'm hoping he will clear me for some strength training as I want to start toning my body. Getting in plenty of cardio, just want to do more.
Don't give into that snack fairy....she's a *****!

Awwwe you're so sweet Sara...I feel and warm and fuzzy. Congrats on getting back on track!
Remember how we were just talking about stall? Well I hit another one...I jinxed myself.
I was doing so well, then all of a sudden nothing...Friday, nothing, Saturday, nothing. I think I'm going to scale back (no pun intended) on my calories and see if that makes it move. I have a routine, so I want to change it up for a week. I normally eat 750-900 calories a day and I'm switching to 600. I normally exercise once a day, so I'm switching to twice. Dr. Tanaka has me taking a double scoop of protein powder every morning with a cup of milk...that's 400 calories just for breakfast! I've decided I'm going back to Unjury products, kinda like I did right after surgery.
Here's my meal plan for today..
Breakfast: egg and 1/8c. cheese
Snack: Crystal Light and unflavored Unjury
Lunch: Veggie dog and ketchup
Snack: Edamame Beans 1/4 cup shelled
Dinner: Unjury chicken Soup
Snack: Yoplait Greek yogurt
646 calories / 92 grams protein
Wish me luck! I'll let ya ladies know how it works.
Doc's scale says 40 pounds lost, my scale says 39. My goal is to be under 200 by Nov. 4th which is Senior Night for all Varsity (winter sports) players. I have to go out on the field in front of an entire stadium of people and get introduced with my son, Tyler. I would be way more comfortable at 199 than 224!
PS. If you haven't tried Smart Dogs, you should...they are da bomb! 45 cal / 0 fat / 8g protein

hi Sara....good to hear from you. Glad that you are following docs orders....I look at it like this.....it was a grueling and intense effort to get to the place that we are at in our classes and surgery and I don't want to blow it........I'm working on getting into my head that THIS STYLE IS FOR LIFE....not just for a few months. . So keep up the good work....how does the new # feel? I think that I am almost to 200.....will see the doc next week and it will be my first weigh in....can't wait! Have you gone back to school? I am planning to go back on the 3rd....tata:)D
