stomach pain
Quite possible. For the first few days, I took sips that were the equivalent of having an ice chip, but lots of them over a period of time. I was scared of taking something too big.
I'm not sure how the feeling is for VSG, but for RNY it feels like a big glob in your stomach but passes on after a little while. It doesn't linger around.
You could also be feeling the nerve endings regenerating in your belly. A few different things. You can ask your surgeon when you see him in your 1 week post-op (provided it's not unbearable pain right now).

thanks for the note Sian.....the nerve endings regenerating sounds like a possiblity. Dr. Taller said he doesn't see his patients until 2-3 weeks after...he said that not much changes from the discharge day so I'll go smaller on the sips and see what happens. The funny thing is,,,the popsicles go down great and I enjoy them bu****er and ice chips don't agree with my tumtum....humhum:)D
A friend of mine suggested drinking the propel water if I was having troubles with regular water because it was not as dense. You may want to give that a try and see if it is lighter on your stomach.

yogurt....hey, my tum tum (I think that is her name?) did better with your suggestions but this evening she told me to have some yogurt.....hmhmhm, I was wondering if that was allowed so I took my little plate and a small spoon and ate slowly....now.....tum tum feels better!!!!!Guess I'm one that can do yogurt.. :)D
It's a trip how different all the docs post op eating plans are. I wouldn't worry about a little yogurt. I wasn't supposed to eat it til after week two, but there are soooo many docs that allow it after week one. Thick stuff (ie. protein shakes, jello, yogurt, etc.) sometimes would hurt if I even took a half a bite too much. Your stomach still has a lot of swelling and it's a little pissed you chopped it. Give it some more time you and "tum tum" will be great friends soon.
