OOHHHHHhhh, that's right. I keep forgetting your vegetarian! doh!
Well, that would make sense then, I didn't think about that. I'll scan in that form for you, and email it.

Isn't part of the reduced food intake supposed to be about giving your new stomach time to heal all the way as well as to keep it from stretching out? Call your Dr and ask if its ok to be adding food? Did you have the sleeve or the full? I wonder if that is part of hte reeason. Makes me wonder about having the sleeve instead of the full. Oh dear.
PS I know all about head hunger vs. real hunger and you really have to work on avioding the triggers, like going into the kitchen if you shouldn't be eating. Try brushing your teeth instead. For some reason when I am fasting that always hjelps me turn the hunger off. Good luck Deb

Yes, the reduced food intake and options is to help your stomach heal and also to reintroduce your body to food as you are a lot more sensitive to food items that we generally took for granted previously.
The food outlines we are discussing are actually per the advice of our surgeons, but were surprised that each surgeon suggested something different.
I had the RNY, and Becca had the sleeve, but I had also forgotten that Becca is a vegetarian so while I've been released to have soft foods such as shrimp and fish and vegies on Sept 25th, she does't eat these, which could explain as to why her next food stage is also the 25th but may consist of different items.
The food outlines that the surgeons give us are different to what Kaiser suggests in their folder. I'm going to go by what my surgeon suggests.
So far I brush my teeth 4-5 times a day, not just to help with any hunger pains I might have, but also because you mouth tastes like death twice over as your body goes into ketosis.

Thanks! I just read it...very good info. The no-no list is basically the same as Tanaka gave me verbally.
I didn't get anything in writing from Dr. Tanaka other than the generic form I'm supposed to give to my primary Doctor.
I'm surprised he didn't list tofu. Shelley had Rumsey too, and he gave her the green light on tofu...strange??
UUGGG...I have already started adding stuff (even though I haven't had my one month appointment), for some reason Dr. Tanaka has more limitations and longer wait periods than Rumsey. It's was killing me until I decided to take control and eat 4 small meals instead of two, and added a few low calorie/ low fat extras for variety. I made mock "mashed potatoes" last night using cauliflower and veggie broth. So tasty, my kids really thought they were mashed potatoes!
I guess if you gave 100 surgeons the same puzzle they would all start on it differently, but still end with the same result.
