Dr. Ray
Well, it was pretty much a quick meeting. He asked if I enjoyed and learned information from the classes, and then asked which surgery was my preference.
He followed up on any medical issues I have, along with updating any medications I take. He never made any mention about not meeting the 10%, nor made me feel bad or guilty for having to meet with him.
It was over fairly quickly, and next step is to do my walk and have my labs done.
I also ran into Kris while there. She had the appointment before me. I told her to get her butt on the website!!!
So nothing to fear at this appointment ladies!

No, not yet.
BUT I am impressed that they are scheduling (Kaiser) things so quickly.
I know Pacific Bariatric is another story.... guess with them we just have to wait patiently to get our date for the three meetings...then (AGAIN) wait patiently for a surgery date....then wait patiently (AGAINNNN) for that day to come.
Bottom line...another summer of fatness, but maybe a skinny Christmas
PS. Have really been wanting to use the afro simely, but there is never an appropriate time. So, there, I just did it!

I agree. Having to see Dr. Ray, really only added 2 weeks to our process compared to those who met the 10%. Given the amount of time that the whole process takes, that 2 weeks is nothing.
Remember, once we get our authorization from Kaiser, we can also elect to call PB ourselves, which may help in setting up a faster appointment. My work is only 10 minutes away from Scripps Mercy, so I plan on telling them that if someone cancels their appointment, that I'd like to be on call. I also plan to pretty much do the same with surgery times. I have the time off available from work, so it's just a matter of them telling me, "hey, we have a cancellation, can you be in in two days?", and I'd be ready to go.
Honestly, I think the process of of our labs, fitness test, appointments, and surgery, will be much quicker than the 6 months of classes that we just completed!
PS: I too have some smileys that I've wanted to use and never sure when I'd get to! Such as and . Hehehe
