Hi Kim,

My name is Terri and I also live in the Polaris area.  I am beginning my journey.  I have my seminar at Ohio Health next week on Sept 4.  I am soon to be 49 and have about 130 pounds to loose.  I also have Sleep Apnea.

I am probably going to go with the Sleeve.  I am so looking forward to having this surgery and starting my new life.

Did you have your surgery?  What hospital did you use?

Terri

Topic: hello Columbus

Hi, I just joined this group and I am seeing that there haven't been a lot of recent posts.  I am hoping that by me posting maybe we can start this back up.

I am currently in the pre-surgery phase.  My insurance requires a 6 month supervised diet which I started on March 1st.  My first surgical consult is on April 16th.

I would love to have a local support system besides my family and friends.  People that have been there and done that or are in the process as I am.

Anyway, feel free to friend me and maybe we can revive/restart this group.

thanks,

Kat

Topic: Anyone out there?

Hello All!

I see many people join this group, but nobody has ever said anything except the initiator in 2009.  Theres 74 people in this group, and I'd love to have Columbus get a support system together.

A little about me...  My name is Kim, i'm 32, and live near Polaris.  I am pre-op on getting the RNY.  My surgery is probably going to be sometime in March.  I'd love to meet other people in the area both pre and post op.

If anyone else is interested, reply in the thread.  Maybe if we get conversations going, Columbus can actually have a support group that isn't related to a hospital.

Topic: Introductions
My name is Kaley. I am 28 years old and had the biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch June 25 of last year. When I last checked my weight I have lost around 85 pounds so far. I have had no complications so far which is a blessing and my life has totally changed. I am now able to walk more than a mile in a shot whereas before surgery I could not walk more than 3 minutes at a time before my body would start protesting in a major way. Strangers are paying attention to me in a positive way (this has it's positives and negatives). All in all I feel so much better though I will admit that the weight loss and resulting body changes has brought its own insecurities and issues.

It is very nice to meet you all.

Blessings,
Kaley
