Please add me to your facebook support group....my name is Kathy Carr email [email protected]. I have had my initial appointment in Ottawa and am waiting for bariatric surgery. Thanks, Kathy
So we have created a facebook group for Kingston WLS patients - pre and post op. It is a secret group so it can not be searched for. However if you want to be added, send your email address my way and we will get you added.
This will be a great way for us to keep everyone updated, encourage each other often, plan social events and even do some clothing swapping.
Hi Ken,
You will enjoy food again :)
Unfortunately the journey from Opti to real food again can feel like eternity.....but, hang in there-it will get better!
Good luck with everything!

The race isn't given to the swift nor the strong, but it's given to the ones who endure it to the end...
Anybody got a bacon double cheeseburger?
On the bright side. only 7 days till surgery and I'm already down 18 lbs. I expect to be down about 23 or 24 lbs by surgery date,
I've discovered a few new tastes with Optifast but it's getting boring again.
I'm depressed that it will be some time before I can have 'real' food again. Will I ever be able to enjoy food again?
Ken
Our monthly meetings are open to everyone who is either considering having weight loss surgery or those who have already taken the leap. It's an informal gathering with people who understand your fears, hopes and struggles. These meetings offer motivation and support and allow each of us to refocus on our goals.
We exchange recipes, clothes and stories as well as what's working for us and what's not.
We would love for you to join us at the Ongwanada Resource Centre, 6:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. on the 1st Thursday of the month.
Muriel
